Preferred\: None Department Position Summary: A Nurse Technician 1 on the 3000 Medicine Unit performs selected nursing functions under the direction of a registered nurse. A Nurse Tech 1 provides direct patient care including procedures, activities of daily living and operating equipment necessary for patient care as assigned. The Nurse Tech 1 must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the 3000 Medicine Unit. He/she must be familiar with the assessments and treatments of patients with acute or chronic conditions. The Nurse Tech 1 must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
