RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as Expert Biologist/Regulatory Specialist for environmental impact assessment under CEQA- and NEPA-related activities and natural resource permitting in support of ERM clients' capital projects (i.e., data centers, power generation, electrical transmission, renewable energy projects). Oversee the preparation of technical studies and impact assessment documents in a variety of resource areas, including Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), Mitigated Negative Declarations, serving in roles ranging from program manager to lead technical expert to QA/QC. Lead programs to develop permit strategies, specify best management practices; oversee the preparation of permit applications and negotiate conditions with applicable state and federal agencies. Direct permitting and compliance associated with telecom, energy infrastructure and other linear development projects with an emphasis on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Coastal Commission, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, California Fish and Wildlife Service, and Regional Water Quality Control Board permits and consultations. Serve as a dynamic contributor to a select group of existing account teams, diversifying ERMs services with these clients and shaping the strategy for client engagement on these accounts. Collaborate with Account Directors/Managers on client account development, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM's consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients in the electric/gas transmission and generation siting/development markets. Demonstrable track record in delivering multi-million-dollar environmental programs or successfully winning large and strategic projects. Established relationships with California utility companies, in particular PG&E, SCE and Sempra, to leverage existing contract agreements for new project opportunities. Drive and ability to cultivate new client relationships in collaboration with existing Account Directors and account teams. Solid grasp of the key impact assessment and management issues within the California electric/gas transmission and generation market, as well as a high degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of CEQA impact assessment best practices. Experience overseeing the development of CEQA and NEPA documents, with California Public Utilities Commission General Order 131-E (former D) required. Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the marketplace, including positive reputation with key regulators relevant to CEQA impact assessment approvals. ERM is hiring Right of Way (ROW) Agents regionally in the Fresno, CA region to support gas and electric transmission and distribution project efforts. ROW Agents will be responsible for the acquisition of land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents necessary for the construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities. ERM is hiring Field Biologists to conduct surveys and monitoring for large construction projects in Fresno/Tulare, California. Successful candidates must be flexible and responsive to a changing work environment where schedules, site locations, and tasks fluctuate according to the needs of the project. The role of a field biologist requires technical skills, as well as strong organizational and communication skills. This is a full-time (40+ hours/week), limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension. RESPONSIBILITIES: Field biologist position to conduct pre-construction surveys across the client's project area. Work locations are often remote and require biologists to work independently. Electronic data collection. Handheld and sub-meter accurate GPS data collection. Daily reporting and survey report compilation. Other duties as assigned or required. ERM is hiring a Construction Safety Specialist for a key technology client in the Sunnyvale, CA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, managing, and continuously improving the safety programs for several ongoing construction projects. The Construction Safety Specialist will have broad knowledge of Safety compliance programs and, where required, Safety specialty areas. This is a tactical role for site-wide Safety systems, Safety regulations, and best practices. This is a full-time (40 hours), fixed-term position for a duration of six months (6 months). RESPONBILITIES: Champion a strong safety culture across the site and maximize personnel involvement in Safety related activities. Act as Owner's representative while inter-acting with contractors. ERM is hiring Environmental Inspectors to conduct inspections at construction sites in Monterey, California. Successful candidates must be flexible and responsive to a changing work environment where schedules, site locations, and tasks fluctuate according to the needs of the project. They must understand industry safety procedures and practices, including experience implementing them on the job. The individual needs to be focused on safety and the need to keep the whole team safe. They need to be a proactive communicator and be able to work with construction personnel in the field to educate them about the project requirements and problem solve when issues arise. ERM is hiring a Field Herpetologist to help design and conduct protocol-level surveys for a project in Merced County, California. Successful candidates must be flexible and responsive to a changing work environment where schedules and tasks fluctuate according to the needs of the project. The role of Field Herpetologist requires technical skills, as well as strong organizational and communication skills. This is a part-time (11+ hours/week on average), limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
