What is an erp project manager and how to become one
An Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Project Manager develops, plans, and implements an ERP system. They also determine how a project is run, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress.
An ERP project manager works closely with their business's leadership, including CTOs, CIOs, COOs, and CEOs. As such, it is a revered position and is only awarded to those with lots of experience in project management. Basic requirements include a bachelor's degree, five years of experience in a related area, and technical skills. Some of the tools they use include Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Macola for small businesses.
Project managers lead the implementation of new processes that require ERP configuration. They evaluate and propose changes to ERP system requirements to fulfill the organizational needs. They also provide leadership as the business undergoes an ERP to promote the existing flow of business.
