Summary
The Ignite Scholar role is ideal for talented biomedical researchers who have recently completed their doctoral degree and seek a mentored pathway toward a tenure track faculty position. The program has two tracks, (1) research and (2) graduate education in biomedical science and innovation. The research track is designed to provide a platform for building a robust research program with minimal initial teaching responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with a senior mentor at NEOMED to develop an independent research career. Fields of study include: neuroscience, cancer biology, cardiovascular biology, tissue regeneration, motor control, bioinformatics, and graduate biomedical science, data science, and innovation.
After successful completion of the two-to-three-year program, including meeting productivity criteria and demonstration of teaching competence, the scholar will automatically be appointed to a tenure track assistant professor position.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Scholarly Pursuits and Research:
* At least 50% of the Ignite Scholar's time in the graduate education track will be protected for educational research, dissemination, and grant writing.
* Conduct collaborative scholarly inquiry, write and publish quality papers, and participate in scholarly activities within the laboratory.
* Conduct innovative research within the mentor's lab, developing a new research initiative that melds the candidate's previous experience with the expertise of the research mentor.
* Collaborate with the mentor to formulate a personalized research development plan with clear milestones toward achieving research independence.
* Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at relevant conferences.
* Write and submit at least one extramural grant application
Mentorship and Career Development:
* Work closely with the assigned mentor to receive guidance on research strategies, grant applications, and career development.
* Participate in regular meetings with the mentor to review progress and adjust the research development plan as needed.
* Engage in professional development opportunities and networking to enhance research skills and career prospects.
Teaching:
* The candidate may participate in graduate or medical student education and lab personnel training. Previous teaching experience is not required.
* For the Graduate Education in Biomedical Science & Innovation Track: Perform approximately 15 hours of mentored teaching and student advisement per week including course preparation, content delivery, assessment, and student mentoring. A faculty educational mentor will provide peer-review of performance and offer supportive resources for curriculum development.
Service:
No service requirement during participation in the Ignite Scholars program. Service requirements upon transition to tenure track assistant professor will be consistent with those for others of similar rank at NEOMED.
Administrative and Collaborative Duties:
* Collaborate in preparation of grant proposals and research reports.
* Collaborate with other researchers, both within the laboratory and across the institution, to foster interdisciplinary research opportunities.
* Contribute to the research environment by participating in lab meetings and contributing to collaborative projects.
Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

* PhD or equivalent in [Relevant Field] biomedical sciences or a closely related discipline, with the degree requirements expected to be completed before appointment starts

Ohio Christian University's Traditional campus is seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty instructors to teach mathematics courses within its School of Arts and Sciences at its location in Circleville, Ohio.
Applicants must have a minimum of an earned master's degree and professional experience directly relating to the course content. Special consideration will be given to individuals with terminal degrees.

Salary ranges from $1,500.00 to $1,800.00 per course
Reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain a course load as determined by the Associate Dean
* Curriculum Support
* Regular review of curriculum in the area of content area expertise
* Research & recommend resources
* Faculty Services
* Assist Associate Dean with faculty concerns within the applicable discipline area
* Assist Associate Dean with student complaints and concerns within discipline area
* Record attendance and grades in a timely manner
* Mentor and support students
QUALIFICATIONS
According to Ohio Christian University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle Statement.
* Doctorate preferred (Master's degree minimum) in an mathematics or related field
* Preferred experience teaching various math courses, especially in higher education.
* Familiarity with current research, publications, and pedagogy in the discipline
* Curriculum development experience at the associate's and/or bachelor's levels
* Excellent organizational, team-building, and leadership skills
* Capable communicator both in group settings and individual meetings
* Normal office work; no heavy lifting required

Position Title: Group Exercise Instructor Location: Mount Carmel Fitness CenterType: part time Summary: Join our team of full time and part time staff at Mount Carmel Fitness Center. Our facility is managed by Power Wellness Management, a company that specializes in managing state-of-the-art medically integrated health and fitness centers. Power Wellness is a medical fitness industry pioneer who improves the lives of clients with a unique and customized approach to medical fitness center development and management. Their turnkey method takes away the stress of the development and management process allowing clients to focus on other areas of their business.
The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for teaching group exercise classes in a professional and safe manner to the members and guests of the Fitness Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Teach Group Exercise classes as scheduled, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels. 2. Understand contraindicated exercises providing a safe and effective approach to exercise. 3. Maintain industry certification in good standing and meet continuing education requirements. 4. Ensure arrival time allows for proper set up so that class begins on time, ends on time and that area is cleaned up after class. 5. Report any equipment needs, or broken equipment needing repair to supervisor immediately following class. 6. Record participation numbers after every Group Exercise class. 7. Demonstrate accountability to schedule by avoiding missed classes and seek substitute instructors in advance. 8. Provide a fun and engaging experience for the participants. 9. Work towards meeting departmental and organizational goals. 10. The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to center hours and work schedules. 11. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED preferred. • A group exercise instructor certification required. Preferably an NCCA accredited certification. • Nationally recognized NCCA Personal Trainer certification accepted for conducting strength and conditioning group fitness classes that are not licensed formats requiring a specific certification (Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Les Mills, MOSSA, BARRE, Aqua, Cycle, etc).• Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction is required. • Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction, teaching a variety of styles, levels and population preferred. • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness) • Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service based manner. • Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.
