The Vice President, Membership & Mid-level Giving (VP) is a visionary, data-driven, and audience-centered leader responsible for growing KQED's most critical community of supporters - its members. This role drives strategy and innovation for the full lifecycle of membership and mid-level giving, from acquisition through retention and upgrade, cultivating a deep sense of connection and shared purpose between audiences and KQED's mission.
The VP combines strategic foresight, creativity, and analytical rigor to lead one of the most dynamic membership programs in public media. As both a collaborative partner and innovative problem-solver, the VP will champion audience loyalty and philanthropic support across platforms, using data, experimentation, and storytelling to deepen engagement and expand impact. The VP will play a central role in integrating membership strategy into KQED's unified content approach, ensuring that content verticals include clear membership value propositions and conversions pathways from their inception.
The VP will help shape annual and multi-year fundraising plans and will work across departments including development, content, programming, product, marketing, audience intelligence, IT and Finance to ensure membership growth strategies are integrated into KQED's broader audience and revenue goals. Critical to this role is embedding membership functionality and benefits within KQED's owned digital platforms-- particularly the KQED app and website--creating seamless experiences that reward members and convert engaged users into supporters. The role oversees the membership and mid-level department and directly manages the Executive Director of Member Fundraising & Donor Relations, the Executive Director of Membership Operations, and the Director of Audio Fundraising.

Essential Functions
Strategic Leadership
Lead the development, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive, multi-channel fundraising strategies to acquire, retain, and engage KQED members and mid-level donors.
Partner with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer leadership to establish annual and long-term goals, OKRs and growth strategies that align with KQED's mission, strategic plan and financial outlook.
Champion an audience-centric, loyalty-based culture that views membership as both a philanthropic and participatory relationship with KQED.
Collaborate with the VP of Philanthropy to create seamless pathways and drive a pipeline from first-time membership through mid-level to major and legacy giving. Be a key partner with VP of Philanthropy on 3-year Strategic Philanthropy Initiative.
Serve as an active participant in organizational strategic planning and initiatives that connect audience engagement and revenue growth.
Work closely with content leadership to integrate membership strategy into KQED's unified content approach, ensuring all major content initiatives include clear membership conversion strategies and exclusive member benefits.
Growth, Engagement, and Innovation
Oversee the full member lifecycle from acquisition and onboarding through renewal, upgrade, and reactivation using behavioral data and testing to deliver personalized, meaningful experiences.
Lead integrated fundraising across radio, digital, direct mail, podcasting, and paid media to maximize reach, conversion, and retention.
Partner with product and audience intelligence teams to map user journeys and design personalized experiences that deepen engagement and value withing KQED's owned platforms, particularly the app and website.
Continue to refine rapid-cycle testing, creative storytelling, and innovative campaign design to inspire action and measure results.
Leverage AI, analytics, and automation tools to enhance donor experiences, predict trends, and optimize campaign targeting.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in membership or individual giving, ideally within media, nonprofit, or direct-to-consumer environments.

Demonstrated expertise in CRM systems, data analytics, segmentation methodologies, and marketing automation tools.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely.
Essential Functions:
1 - Download daily cash transactions from the bank and maintain cumulative month to date data in an Excel workbook. Investigate and collaborate with key individuals across revenue departments, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable to identify and record unknown cash receipts.
2 - Download Previous Day Composite Report from banking website, which details the previous day's transactions, and utilize report to:
Prepare Daily Cash Report to estimate available cash for operations. This is calculated using the previous day's cleared transactions per bank, outstanding check activity, and estimated disbursements for the day. Reconcile estimated disbursements against actuals.
Monitor daily activity identifying transactions, inquire about unknown transactions or discrepancies, and confirm transactions posted.
3 - Collate cash and checks into specific deposit batches based upon type of cash receipt (i.e. contribution, non-contribution, revenue department, etc).
Update AR Check Log Google Sheet, which is shared with Development and membership, flagging payments that are restricted or with conditions.
Create PDF support documents to be copied into the KQED Cloud for sharing with other departments.
Prepare internal paperwork to transfer funds for restricted gifts from the operating account.
4 - Prepare cash and checks for deposit into bank.
Open Finance department mail and distribute, or re-route, to correct departments within KQED. Isolate checks and collate into deposit batches.
Receive checks from other departments (Membership, Development, Sponsorship, etc.) and prepare for deposit.
Scan checks, envelopes and other supporting documentation to create redacted PDF documents.
Deposit checks using e-desktop scanner, confirm count, and total amount of deposits.
Deposit in-person at the bank cash/checks received that cannot be deposited electronically.
5 - Manage Accounts Receivable email in-box
Review e-mail at least twice a day, and immediately reply to urgent inquiries, such as confirming cash received, requests for an Account Statement, invoices, or a single use credit card hyperlink, etc.
Maintain and create e-mail templates, or default replies, used to efficiently respond to common inquiries.
Process urgent inquiries and collaborate with Revenue Manager (as needed), on responses for inquiries that require more attention, consideration, or similar.
Manage inquiries where AR is awaiting a response until the issue is resolved or information required is received.
Review e-mails flagged by Mimecast Spam Filter for e-mails that require attention. Review Junk e-mail folder to update white list of approved senders, update mailing lists, unsubscribe AR from marketing or social media notifications to organize and manage the AR inbox.
6 - In conjunction with outside consultant, review and reconcile transactions entered in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Revolutionary Online (ROI), to cash receipts (cash, checks, EFTs, and credit cards).
Collaborate with gift processors in the Membership and Development departments to identify and process missing transactions.
Investigate issues and work with other departments to resolve. Issues may include incorrect amounts, check numbers, deposit dates, and duplicate entries.
Re-organize ROI transactions into system Deposit batches, which align with deposits made to WFB.
Prepare cash receipts journal in GL software (Intacct).
7 - Become a steward of the WideOrbit (WO) trafficking and payments system and its data as it pertains to Finance. This includes but is not limited to:
Preventing or eliminating duplicate customers, update credit status based on Aging, update billing contacts and preferred billing methods.
Review D&B credit reports for new customers, approve WO finance credit stops, and, identify high risk companies.
Assist other departments with troubleshooting or, making adjustments, to transactions as necessary.
Update and create users for WO payment portal and refresh outdated payment links.
Follow up on delinquent accounts and prepare monthly reporting for management review for collections priority.
Draft FAQ for internal and external users of the system.
Work with Account Executives, Corporate Sponsorship Ops, Customers, and WO Help to prevent invoice errors and investigate over/under payments.
8 -Maintain Balance Sheet Analyses of receivable and deferred revenue accounts. Investigate discrepancies and corrections needed.
9 - Actively pursue collection of outstanding accounts receivable:
E-mail monthly account statements and payment past due reminders
Document communication and efforts to collect, maintaining notes in the Aging
10 - Reconcile third party reports for vehicle donation program reporting with cash received, and prepare journal entries for month end close

Essential Functions:
1 - Download daily cash transactions from the bank and maintain cumulative month to date data in an Excel workbook. Investigate and collaborate with key individuals across revenue departments, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable to identify and record unknown cash receipts.
2 - Download Previous Day Composite Report from banking website, which details the previous day's transactions, and utilize report to:
Prepare Daily Cash Report to estimate available cash for operations. This is calculated using the previous day's cleared transactions per bank, outstanding check activity, and estimated disbursements for the day. Reconcile estimated disbursements against actuals.
Monitor daily activity identifying transactions, inquire about unknown transactions or discrepancies, and confirm transactions posted.
3 - Collate cash and checks into specific deposit batches based upon type of cash receipt (i.e. contribution, non-contribution, revenue department, etc).
Update AR Check Log Google Sheet, which is shared with Development and membership, flagging payments that are restricted or with conditions.
Create PDF support documents to be copied into the KQED Cloud for sharing with other departments.
Prepare internal paperwork to transfer funds for restricted gifts from the operating account.
4 - Prepare cash and checks for deposit into bank.
Open Finance department mail and distribute, or re-route, to correct departments within KQED. Isolate checks and collate into deposit batches.
Receive checks from other departments (Membership, Development, Sponsorship, etc.) and prepare for deposit.
Scan checks, envelopes and other supporting documentation to create redacted PDF documents.
Deposit checks using e-desktop scanner, confirm count, and total amount of deposits.
Deposit in-person at the bank cash/checks received that cannot be deposited electronically.
5 - Manage Accounts Receivable email in-box
Review e-mail at least twice a day, and immediately reply to urgent inquiries, such as confirming cash received, requests for an Account Statement, invoices, or a single use credit card hyperlink, etc.
Maintain and create e-mail templates, or default replies, used to efficiently respond to common inquiries.
Process urgent inquiries and collaborate with Revenue Manager (as needed), on responses for inquiries that require more attention, consideration, or similar.
Manage inquiries where AR is awaiting a response until the issue is resolved or information required is received.
Review e-mails flagged by Mimecast Spam Filter for e-mails that require attention. Review Junk e-mail folder to update white list of approved senders, update mailing lists, unsubscribe AR from marketing or social media notifications to organize and manage the AR inbox.
6 - In conjunction with outside consultant, review and reconcile transactions entered in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Revolutionary Online (ROI), to cash receipts (cash, checks, EFTs, and credit cards).
Collaborate with gift processors in the Membership and Development departments to identify and process missing transactions.
Investigate issues and work with other departments to resolve. Issues may include incorrect amounts, check numbers, deposit dates, and duplicate entries.
Re-organize ROI transactions into system Deposit batches, which align with deposits made to WFB.
Prepare cash receipts journal in GL software (Intacct).
7 - Become a steward of the WideOrbit (WO) trafficking and payments system and its data as it pertains to Finance. This includes but is not limited to:
Preventing or eliminating duplicate customers, update credit status based on Aging, update billing contacts and preferred billing methods.
Review D&B credit reports for new customers, approve WO finance credit stops, and, identify high risk companies.
Assist other departments with troubleshooting or, making adjustments, to transactions as necessary.
Update and create users for WO payment portal and refresh outdated payment links.
Follow up on delinquent accounts and prepare monthly reporting for management review for collections priority.
Draft FAQ for internal and external users of the system.
Work with Account Executives, Corporate Sponsorship Ops, Customers, and WO Help to prevent invoice errors and investigate over/under payments.
8 -Maintain Balance Sheet Analyses of receivable and deferred revenue accounts. Investigate discrepancies and corrections needed.
9 - Actively pursue collection of outstanding accounts receivable:
E-mail monthly account statements and payment past due reminders
Document communication and efforts to collect, maintaining notes in the Aging
10 - Reconcile third party reports for vehicle donation program reporting with cash received, and prepare journal entries for month end close

Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented individual with 3-5+ years of broadcast engineering experience to join our team. As a Radio Broadcast Engineer, you will play a crucial role in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all broadcast radio station equipment, from transmitters and studio gear to satellite downlinks and automation systems. Your expertise in IT and networking will be invaluable as you provide basic IT support and troubleshoot equipment issues.
