ESPN is seeking a seasoned attorney for the role of Senior Counsel. This position will report to the Lead Counsel and will assist and support the Lead Counsel, Chief Counsel, General Counsel and other attorneys in fulfilling the legal affairs and requirements of the corporation. What You Will Do:

Keeps internal clients (and Legal leadership team) fully informed of relevant legal issues and implications of their current operations and proposed actions and, advises them accordingly of risks and legal consequences of alternative actions
Reviews and edits significant guidelines, policies, letters, work orders, and other documents from applicable client departments to ensure that legal implications are appropriately handled
Manages outside counsel in their representation of ESPN on litigation and other legal service matters and analyzes the approach and effectiveness of such outside counsel
May directly supervise, on a non-exclusive basis, one or more Paralegal and Legal Assistant colleagues, and may supervise individual projects of Counsel(s)
Recommends and may implement Legal Department policy at the direction of General Counsel, Chief Counsel and Lead Counsel

Required Qualifications & Skills:
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including extensive drafting, in a transactional IP practice at a law firm, network/studio, sports league, agency, and/or other in-house legal department
A strong understanding of content agreement negotiating (including, by way of example only, audiovisual programming, licensing, and production agreements), intellectual property law (copyright, trademark, rights of publicity), and scripted or unscripted original content acquisitions and production, including audio/visual and music clearances, guild related matters, and/or talent negotiations

Job Description
The Associate Manager, Fashion & Living Category Management supports Universal Products & Experiences' North American Fashion & Living licensing business. Reporting to the Senior Director, this role manages and supports specific accounts within the Fashion & Living category, assists in shaping strategy, and executes key initiatives for growth. Core responsibilities include managing licensee relationships, conducting financial analysis, and supporting new business opportunities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver retail and product objectives. The ideal candidate has experience in brand strategy, licensing, and retail landscape knowledge, with a proactive approach to driving category growth and revenue goals.

Qualifications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage day-to-day licensing partnerships, ensuring programs align with property objectives and drive revenue.
* Negotiate licensing agreements from initial proposal through execution.
* Partner with Contract Ops, Legal, and cross-functional teams to streamline contract processes and ensure timely approvals.
* Collaborate with Product Development, Retail Sales, Franchise, and Marketing to deliver compelling product lines and enhance brand presence across retail channels.
* Lead financial forecasting and track ongoing business performance.
* Drive new licensee recruitment, including market analysis, prospecting, pitching, and preparing presentations and reports.
* Analyze competitive landscape and market trends to identify growth opportunities and inform strategy.
* Leverage retail insights to optimize product placement and licensing strategies across key channels.
* Cultivate strong internal relationships to explore cross-category opportunities and maximize collaboration.
* Contribute to and execute category strategies aligned with broader franchise objectives.
* Proactively identify and pursue innovative business models and partnerships to drive incremental growth.
* Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the team.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum 3+ years in licensing, preferably within Fashion & Living or a related consumer products field.
* BA/BS degree preferred.
* Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities across internal teams and external partners.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with adaptability and attention to detail.
* Cross-functional collaboration experience with departments such as Legal, Marketing, Product Development, and Retail Sales.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
* Solid understanding of licensing, retail, and product development processes, including merchandise planning and lifecycle management.
* Proficiency in contract review and negotiation of key business terms.
* Analytical and strategic thinker with market trend analysis skills to inform business decisions.
* Advanced Excel (pivot tables), financial reporting and forecasting; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Apple Keynote.
* Willingness to travel as needed.
