Esri Leadership

Dr. Este Geraghty is the Chief Medical Officer and Health Solutions Director at Esri. She leads the health and human services sector whose mission is to transform health through the strategic implementation of a GIS platform that improves decision-making, increases efficiencies, and facilitates collaboration at local and global scales.

Formerly the Deputy Director of the Center for Health Statistics and Informatics with the California Department of Public Health, Dr. Geraghty led the state vital records and public health informatics programs. There she engaged in statewide initiatives in meaningful use, health information exchange, and interoperability. She also led the development and launch of the state’s first health open data portal which now hosts more than 330 datasets from 12 health and human services departments.

Dr. Geraghty also served as associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California at Davis. Her research focused on using geographic information systems to influence health policy and advance community development programs. She has authored research in diabetes outcomes, pesticide exposure modeling, statewide mental health service access and utilization tracking systems; asset and disparity mapping of youth outcomes, and index development for youth well-being and vulnerability.

Dr. Geraghty received her medical degree from UC Davis in 2002. She completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Utah and her residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. She has been graduated from two fellowship programs, one in primary care outcomes research and the other in health leadership. Dr. Geraghty also has degrees in Medical Informatics (MS) and Public Health (MPH), is a certified public health professional (CPH), and a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP).

Andrew is CTO of FortiusOne, creators of GeoCommons, and was co-Founder of Mapufacture, where he works developing open-standards and building tools to make it easy for people to create customized maps using complex geospatial tools. He also actively participates in the open-source community and develops several mapping tools such as Mapstraction and GeoPress. Prior to starting Mapufacture, Andrew developed high-fidelity realtime vehicle simulation software at Realtime Technologies and designed spacecraft algorithms and sensor systems at EADS Astrium. Andrew wrote the O'Reilly shortcut ''Introduction to Neogeography'' and ''Trends in Where2.0'' business report in Spring 2008 and is on the Where2.0 Conference Program Committee. He is also published in MacTech and Make magazine on his home-automation hacking.

Dan Abushanab is a CIO at Esri and is based in Redlands, California. He has worked as Group Manager, Applied Technology at Polaroid; VP, CIO at Art Technology Group, Inc.; and Director, Information Systems at Applix. Dan studied at Virginia Tech between 1985 and 1989, SKHS between 1981 and 1985, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) between 1995 and 1999.

Recognized as “One of The Top Ten Creative Minds" by Fast Company Magazine, James Hitchcock is an accomplished creative and strategic thinker with extensive experience helming large-scale branding initiatives at the nation’s top advertising agencies and in-house creative departments at television networks and James is well known for his love of writing run-on sentences and droning-on about the brands he’s worked on including: Target, Nike, Coca-Cola, MTV Networks, History Channel, Discovery Channel and NBC Universal. Today, James is proudly helming the in-house Creative Lab at the globally-renowned software juggernaut Esri.

As Esri’s Chief Technology Officer for Enterprise and AI technologies, Jay Theodore guides the long-term vision of the ArcGIS platform, designed for enterprises and infused with advanced AI techniques.

Jay is passionate about harnessing innovative ideas to increase the value organizations gain from location intelligence, geoscience, computer science, and technology. He takes great pride in working with outstanding software developers, architects, product engineers and program managers. Lately the team has been working on advancing the enterprise platform (microservices, container orchestration, automation, cloud / hybrid integration), creating a comprehensive spatial analysis and data science capability (with Python Notebooks), and integrating end-to-end Deep Learning capabilities within the Geospatial AI platform.

Jay earned a master’s degree in computer science from Florida Institute of Technology, where his research focused on finite element analysis and modelling (FEA/FEM), computer graphics, and composite structure design for the International Space Station Freedom. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.

Larry Boden is a CTO for Professional Services at Esri.

Michael E. Young is a Chief Product Security Officer at Esri and is based in Riverside, California. He has worked as Hosted Services Manager at Business Engine, Regional Systems Administrator at Arcadis, and Principal Security Architect at Esri. Michael studied at University of California, Riverside (UCR) between 1993 and 1995 and University of Redlands between 2011 and 2013.

Nick Frunzi is a Board Member at Southern California Mountains Foundation and Chief Customer Officer at Esri and is based in Redlands, California. He has worked as Director of Educational Services and Support / Interim CIO at Esri; Manager, Developer Support at Esri; and Workbook Manager at Esri. Nick attended University of Rochester between 1986 and 1990 and University of Redlands between 2000 and 2002.
