    NANA Management Services is seeking a Remote Security Officer to support Maniilaq Housing in Kotzebue, Alaska. This position is responsible for remotely monitoring housing properties, coordinating responses to incidents with on-site staff and emergency services, and maintaining detailed records of all security activities. The ideal candidate will have security or law enforcement experience, strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and an understanding of rural Alaska communities. This role plays a vital part in protecting residents, preserving property, and supporting the overall safety and well-being of the Kotzebue community from a remote operations setting. Responsibilities * Monitor and patrol assigned buildings, grounds, and areas, either visually or electronically. * Control access to the property, allowing entry only to properly authorized individuals. * Inspect premises, including doors, windows, and gates, to ensure they are secure. * Document and report incidents such as property damage, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences. * Warn violators of rule infractions and, when necessary, escort them from the property. * Notify on-site staff when visitors or service providers arrive. * Assist in responding to emergencies or disasters to protect life, property, and community safety. * Check the heating, lighting, sprinklers, ventilation, and fire safety systems to ensure proper function. * Provide transportation services using a variety of vehicles, including passenger cars, and passenger vans. * Administer emergency medical aid, including CPR, AED use, and safe patient movement. * Reporting any safety or sanitation concerns to a supervisor promptly. * Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's and community's success. LOCATION: Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233 WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time (24 hours/ 3 days per week) Tuesday & Thursday: 10:00am-6:00pm and one weekend day 6:00am-2:00pm (rotating Saturday or Sunday) RESPONSIBILITIES: Help ensure the safety and security of staff, guests, visitors, building and property Help ensure staff, guests and visitors understand and follow premise rules and regulations Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the building and grounds to identify and report maintenance concerns, damage and potential security risks Diligently monitor surveillance cameras throughout shift Encourage a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolutions to conflicts Discern potentially volatile situations and act quickly to de-escalate and alleviate disruptions Respond to alarms and emergency calls, requesting assistance from emergency personnel for high risk situations If necessary, remove or assist in removing any person engaged in suspicious or criminal acts Perform First Aid and/or other life saving measures if necessary Support various emergency drills per emergency action plans Assist with guest screening and breathalyzer tests at the Central Campus shelters (Safe Harbor & Joy House), as needed QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalent required, college preferred Previous experience in security, social work or other related fields preferred A mature Christian with a servant's heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population Familiarity with security equipment and practices preferred Ability to remain positive and calm, and to demonstrate fair, consistent, and sound judgement when dealing with problematic behavior or chaotic or conflicting situations Strong conflict resolution skills.
