As a result, Essex Industries has been a part of virtually every major military and commercial aerospace program since 1947.
Returning home from his service in World War II, Harold Guller recognized a business opportunity in jet aircraft—a new mode of transportation back in 1947.
Essex entered the cryogenics market in 1963, with designs and the capability to manufacture liquid oxygen (LOX) converters, a highly efficient method of oxygen storage and delivery.
The 1970’s saw Essex establish the Fluid Controls group of thermal/electrothermal valve assemblies and actuators as well as a Medical group providing valves, flow selectors and regulators.
Founded in 1978 as the Immigrant City Archives, the mission of the Lawrence History Center is to collect, preserve, share, and animate the history and heritage of Lawrence and its people.
The company’s line of Aircraft Components expanded in the 1980’s with the acquisition of Dolphin Systems, which specialized in valves and pumps for the military, and Alar® Products, which manufactured anti-gravity valves for pressurizing crewmember flight suits.
And in 2001, The Respiratory Group was established to serve home healthcare and institutional care respiratory equipment providers.
