Intern provides an opportunity for nursing students to advance their knowledge and skills in providing patient care. Interns are partnered with an RN who develops and supervises the Student Nurse Intern's experience while retaining full accountability and responsibility for the care of assigned patients. Performs basic nursing skills appropriate for the age and/or development of the patients served. In addition to performing normal duties of a Nursing Assistant, must demonstrate competency in technical nursing skills generally learned/acquired before beginning the last year of a nursing program; job duties will expand as skills are learned and competencies are documented by RN partner. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by the shift, unit, or facility assigned.

The Financial Analyst Intern position provides aspiring, financially oriented business students a range of outstanding experiences in corporate accounting and finance. About the Role:Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. Our internship program provides exposure to enterprise-level cybersecurity operations, compliance frameworks, and risk management processes. Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
Third-Party Risk Management
Conduct cybersecurity assessments for third-party relationships and escalate findings to GRC leadership.
Maintain due diligence documentation supporting third-party processes (e.g., SOC 1 & 2, ISO 27001 certifications, audit attestations).
Track and follow up with third parties on identified security gaps and remediation timelines.
Compliance & Framework Support
Support quarterly NIST 2.0 maturity assessments and control validation efforts.
Assist with internal and external audit coordination, including evidence collection, initial review, and recommendations to the GRC Lead.
Monitor and track IT and cybersecurity risks through established risk registers and compliance tools.
Process Improvement & Metrics
Identify opportunities for control optimization and best practice implementation in GRC processes.
Support automation initiatives for evidence collection, control mapping, and compliance monitoring.
Contribute to the continued development of cybersecurity KPI/KRI dashboards and reporting metrics.
Professional Development
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT, Security, and Compliance functions.
Work closely with your mentor and the Cybersecurity GRC Lead to gain real-world insight into security risk management in a pharmaceutical setting.
Complete a special project and present your findings and recommendations to senior management upon program completion.
Requirements:
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Interest in cybersecurity governance, risk management, compliance frameworks, or audit processes.
Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ISO 27001, or SOC reporting is preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking skills.
Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously.
Passion for learning and a willingness to contribute to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The incumbent will assist with literature reviews and create parent-specific educational fact sheets for the disorders on the NBS panel.
Literature reviews will focus on the symptoms, prognosis, diagnostic methods, treatment options, frequency, causes, inheritance pattern, resources, and other names for each disorder.
The incumbent will assess educational resources provided by other state NBS programs and national organizations.
This information will be used to create educational fact sheets specifically intended for parents/families.
These fact sheets must present the educational content in an accessible and understandable format.
These fact sheets will be available to external stakeholders on our website and may be included in communications with pediatricians when babies have abnormal NBS results.
The incumbent will assist with daily programmatic functions such as sorting and preparing outgoing mail correspondence, sorting and scanning incoming documentation, and contacting hospitals and healthcare providers when repeat newborn screens are needed.

The New York State (NYS) NBS Program is a public health service provided by the Department of Health to families with newborn babies.
The NBS Program provides screening for over 50 health disorders, many of which present with no clinical symptoms at birth.
These disorders may be life-threatening or result in serious developmental disability.
The NBS Program aims to detect babies at risk for these disorders prior to them becoming symptomatic, so that families can be connected with early diagnostic testing and treatment.
The goal is to help these babies to live as long and healthily as possible.
The success of the NBS Program depends on close partnerships with stakeholders such as families, pediatricians, clinical specialists, hospital staff, and local public health officials.
Families of newborns often look to the NBS Program for information about the disorders on the panel, especially when babies have positive newborn screens.
The Hourly Project Assistant II will apply their skills in analysis, writing, design, and teamwork.
The incumbent will search for and evaluate sources of scientific literature to accumulate a body of knowledge for each disorder on the NBS panel.
The incumbent will apply their skills in analysis, organization, and critical thinking in evaluating the current data on each disorder, looking for common themes, discrepancies an outliers.
The incumbent will use their editing skills to create an education document that balances scientific content with accessibility and readability.
Design and formatting skills will be employed to create a fact sheet that is visually appealing and follows organization-specific guidelines.
