The Estimator's primary responsibility and accountability is to provide an exceptional and successful customer experience while creating estimates, coordinating repair needs for customers including all communication, informing and updating customers and insurance companies throughout the repair process. The Estimator accurately assesses the damage of vehicles and documents needed repairs and parts replacement on the damage appraisal. The Specifics of the Role
* Periodically attend pre-bid meetings to become familiar with unique project requirements and analyze existing site conditions to determine required scope that is not already indicated.
* Review and interpret project documents to determine job-specific material, equipment, and labor requirements for scope development.
* Assist in preparing written scopes of work for subcontracts and suppliers and coordinating mechanical scopes with the work of other trades (e.g., civil, structural, architectural, electrical, etc.).
* Participate in pre-proposal design coordination meetings to support the development of pricing documents for conceptual estimates.
* Perform quantity survey of mechanical systems and components using digitized software and apply industry standard labor rates to support the development of accurate cost estimates.
* Evaluate vendor and subcontractor for conformance with proposal requirements; level scopes and identify low cost/ best value responses while capturing assumptions, rationale, inclusions, exclusions, etc.
* Assist in the preparation of estimates used for bidding and budgeting purposes (including self-performed work); participate in internal estimate review process and assist with final recap of estimate for presentation to senior management.
* Support project management tasks, including budgeting, schedule development, interim design review, change order pricing, procurement, value engineering, and vendor selection based on proposal development.
* Coordinate with project teams to evaluate productivity for historical data and schedule/ cost forecasting purposes.

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or a combination of education (including trade schools) and professional experience.

**PRIMARY PURPOSE:** To review all estimates and supporting documentation submitted by contractors/adjusters using various estimating applications ensuring estimates follow client and regulatory requirements and meet Property Repair Solutions' guidelines; to serve as a subject matter expert on property restoration scope; to be a client liaison responsible for issue resolution, complex assignments, and auditing.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Conducts quality reviews of contractor documentation for repair estimates to ensure it meets local area codes, industry and manufacturer requirements, and the guidelines of the carrier and Property Repair Solutions.
+ Negotiates with adjusters, contractors, and others as necessary to reach agreement on final scope.
+ Creates, reviews, and submits fair and accurate estimates through various platforms including, but not limited to, supporting items to meet safety and/or other local/state/federal agency requirements, type and content of supporting documentation for accounts receivable, and scope differences.
+ Records data for initial estimates reviewed, number of reviews, and rejections on all files.
+ Identifies any differences and validates whether any differences are justified in accordance with standard industry practices or code.
+ Reviews justifications using independent judgment and discretion.
+ Aides contractors regarding handling specific types of repairs.
+ Receives and responds to questions from contractors or carriers.
+ Provides input for the establishment and update of storm guidelines.
+ Determines if emergency repairs are appropriate for completion (meet technical requirements for temporary repairs) and authorizes contractors to perform the justified services.
+ Monitors, assists, tracks, and provides approval for all claims that are re-inspected by the carrier.

A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Estimator is an individual contributor role accountable for making an accurate material list and cost estimate on all inquiries for quotations relating to the company's product line to ensure profitable sales and services. In this role, the Estimator position assists in development of economic costs and collecting technical information to provide a quick and understandable knowledge of product for competitive and profitability purposes. Essential Functions:
This position reports to the Assistant Sales Manager and no direct or indirect reports

Must be able to work accurately with large volumes of figures, and to evaluate specifications and read blueprints to ensure that the overall project is accurate and complete
Must work with the Sales and Design Engineers, Purchasing, Detailing, and Manufacturing to collect all information, and maintain good relationships with outside vendors, to ensure the most economical delivery and price

Planning
