*This position reports to the President.
The estimator is responsible for all preconstruction activities on assigned projects working in collaboration with clients, the project manager, and others to ensure a successful preconstruction process.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
MUST HAVE: 3+ years of RECENT experience Estimating Commercial Construction projects valued at $3M - $50M.
MUST HAVE: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field required.
MUST HAVE: Established relationships with local trade contractors and a broad professional network within the Treasure Valley (Boise Metropolitan Area).
Proficiency in design-build, negotiated, and competitive bid projects.
Cloud-based construction management software experience is a plus.

Estimator Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of competitive bids on assigned projects reviewing specifications & drawings.
Review specifications, drawings, and all other construction documentation for completeness of information, construction-related issues, and potential risks.
Utilize understanding of construction means, methods, and current relevant cost history data to perform quantity take-offs.
Work with subcontractors and suppliers to calculate project costs.
Evaluate and estimate construction project costs for all project scopes, systems, and assembly.
Prepare project bids & project budgets.
Create preconstruction and construction schedules in collaboration with the project team.
Develop responses to RFPs.
Preparing project bids and budgets and assembling change orders.

Position Summary:
The Mechanical Estimator will work within the Estimating Department and will report directly to the Senior Mechanical Estimator. They will work closely with the estimating team. The Mechanical Estimator will analyze project design and construction documents related to all mechanical scopes to determine the needs of various projects, provide solutions to increase profitability, and develop cost estimates. This position will be fully in-office.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop cost estimates for mechanical scopes of work.
Analyze project designs to determine more efficient products/methods that meet the project goals.

Track costs by bid package, field order, and specific category of change (defined by client).

Qualifications:
Professional Experience and Education

High School diploma or GED required.

The Senior Estimator will work within the Estimating department and report directly to an Estimating Director. They will work closely with operations, purchasing, scheduling, and BIM departments. Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment more than 50% of the time, with occasional requirements to move about on the job site.
Must be able to access work being done on multiple levels.
Hands/Arms: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Sight: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; reading printed and digital documents
Hearing: Must be able to work in proximity to loud equipment 5% of the time. Must be able to wear hearing protection, as necessary. Often required to communicate with customers and coworkers in an office setting and, on the phone/digital meetings.
Speech: Ability to communicate laws, ordinances, plans, regulations, protocols, directives, and standard operating procedures related to project scope. Constantly required to communicate with customers and coworkers in an office setting.
Bending/Twisting: minimal.
Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: minimal.
