The Estimator's primary responsibility and accountability is to provide an exceptional and successful customer experience while creating estimates, coordinating repair needs for customers including all communication, informing and updating customers and insurance companies throughout the repair process. The Estimator accurately assesses the damage of vehicles and documents needed repairs and parts replacement on the damage appraisal. The Estimator plays a pivotal role in the success of the customer's experience by ensuring they are working in alignment with all team members in achieving the repair facility's KPIs.

* Ensure every customer interaction is documented, updated efficiently and accurately with pertinent details
* Provide Customer with accurate and timely information, guiding them through the repair process and ensuring that they receive excellent customer service

Compensation Details:

Position Description
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with mass timber construction projects, ensuring that our clients receive competitive and transparent pricing while maintaining our commitment to sustainability and quality.
This position will be based out of our Spokane Valley facility.
Responsibilities
* Perform Mass Timber and accessories take-offs using 2D (Bluebeam) or 3D (cadwork/Revit) software technologies.
* Analyze project requirements, including structural and architectural details, and determine the quantity and type of mass timber materials needed.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project related expenses.
* Create detailed bid proposals for clients, including clear breakdowns of cost components and explanations of the estimate.
* Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and pricing for specialized mass timber components or services.
* Collaborate with the project team to ensure alignment between the estimated costs and the project's scope and objectives.
* Work closely with the sales team and clients to address cost related inquiries and provide insight into budgeting and cost control.
* Conduct cost analysis on value engineering options provided by the Engineering team.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and regulations related to mass timber construction.
* Document change orders comprehensively and provide clear notifications to the sales and coordination teams.
* Learn and understand manufacturing processes and practical applications of Mercer Mass Timber products, CrossLam CLT and Glulam beams/columns, including design properties, product mix, and accessory materials.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
* Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, Wood Processing, or related discipline.
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience in estimating.
* Knowledge of mass timber materials, construction methods, and related technologies.
* Knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda process.
* Proficiency in MS Excel.
* Mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
* Proven experience as an estimator, preferably in the construction or mass timber industry.
* Experience in the North American construction market.

* Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate calculations.
* Assist in preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.
* Continual review and recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
* Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
* Work well in a strong team environment.

Education and/or Experience
10 years minimum experience in Commercial Estimating. Experience should be in Metal Stud Framing, Drywall, and ACT. An individual with field experience would be a plus.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with an Estimating Software such as The Edge (preferred) or OST and Quick Bid, extensive math skills along with Microsoft Office Software.

Compensation Details
$60,000 - $130,000 / Year
Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.

What Youll Do
Conduct on-site roof inspections and measurements
Prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive estimates
Interpret plans, specifications, and proposal requirements

What Were Looking For
Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator or in a similar construction estimating role
Strong understanding of roofing systems (residential)

Valid clean drivers license; ability to perform site visits

Marine Construction PM / Estimator
Estimator job in Spokane, WA
We are seeking a Marine Construction Project Manager / Estimator to join our team. This role involves leading contract negotiations, managing project documentation, coordinating work activities, overseeing procurement, identifying business opportunities, preparing estimates and proposals, and transitioning successful bids to active projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all contract negotiations and change order identification.
* Prepare and manage submittals and required project documentation.
* Coordinate self-performed and subcontracted work activities with onsite Superintendent.
* Oversee procurement and acquisition of materials, ensuring quality control.
* Develop and implement process improvements for competitive advantage.
* Identify bid opportunities and attend on-site visits.
* Prepare bid/no bid recommendations for management review.
* Review plans and specifications for comprehensive quantity take-offs.
* Identify costs for labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
* Collaborate with Operations Managers on crew sizes, durations, and equipment needs.
* Communicate project-specific risks and determine execution methods.
* Transition successful bids into project budgets and finalize subcontracts.
Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience estimating small heavy civil construction projects ($100k+ value).
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong knowledge of construction management and project management principles.
* Ability to review plans/specifications and perform accurate take-offs.
* Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
* Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* 5-15 years in Marine Construction.
* Experience with CAD drafting/design.
* Familiarity with standard construction practices and regulations.
Disqualifiers
* Less than 5 years of relevant estimating experience.
* No experience with heavy civil construction projects.
* Inability to travel for site visits.
* Lack of proficiency in estimating software.
* Poor tenure history (job hopping).
