MAJOR FUNCTION
Provides Corporate Estimating Support to all districts. Estimating managers are responsible for estimating the cost of projects and materials. • Experience in project estimating, with a focus on conceptual engineering and project design (2+ years)
• Experience in utility-scale energy projects, including renewable energy, power generation, and transmission infrastructure
• Experience in engineering principles and practices
• Experience with construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Experience with industry standards and best practices in project estimating and cost management.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Preferred:
• Experience in project estimating, with a focus on conceptual engineering and project design (3+ years)
• Experience in field engineering or construction management (1+ yeasr)
• Experience with cost estimation software and tools (e.g., PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX, or similar).
• Experience with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Master's or Post-Graduate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a related field.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates at conceptual, preliminary, and definitive stages for new and existing projects.
• Develop conceptual engineering designs and preliminary construction plans to support accurate scope quantification.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction teams, and suppliers to gather specifications, drawings, and competitive pricing for estimate development.
• Perform value engineering and risk assessments to identify cost‑saving opportunities and establish contingency plans.
• Build, refine, and maintain estimating tools, databases, and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Track project costs and variances throughout the lifecycle, updating estimates to reflect scope, design, or market changes.
• Present estimates, value‑engineering options, and cost impacts to senior management, stakeholders, and clients while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
