What You'll Do:

What You Bring to the Table:

Seeking professionals who have electrical cost estimating experience with large-scale projects within the electrical utilities industry, including but not limited to transmission, distribution, and substation projects, specifically a background in large-scale distribution systems and grid improvements working with third-party C&I or New Business Customer Construction.
Some travel may be required (up to 30%).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* The Cost Estimator will review all project specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of work, including electrical drawings and architectural blueprints related to customer construction.
* Review utility maps and records to support planning recommendations.
* Collaborate with local electrical engineering and planning teams.
* Coordinate with Land Management and Real Estate teams to assess right-of-way (ROW) and easement considerations.
* Perform material takeoff to quantify all required materials, including wires, conduits, transformers, and other electrical components.
* Calculate labor costs by estimating task durations and applying appropriate labor rates.
* Prepare Class 2 and Class 3 estimate documentation and cost backup.
* Apply overhead and profit considerations, including project management, inspection, permitting, insurance, and other business costs or risks.
* Assist in determining applicable engineering deposits for the customer up to and including evaluating local credits, tariffs, or other local considerations for accurate cost agreements.
* Support Change Orders cost estimate development, when necessary.
* Review and refine new estimates for accuracy and incorporate updates based on new information.
* Assist Utility Leads and Management with customer communications by documenting all prior decisions, changes, and external communication with vendors and suppliers in meeting minutes.
* Review and research historical data to compile summary reports for future estimates.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating team.
Essential Skills
* 7-10+ years of estimating experience
* Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering
* Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
* Experience within estimating stadiums, arenas, and sports training facilities is preferred but other experience will be considered as well
* Must be able to work with cross-functional teams
* Client-facing experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* PMP certification preferred but not required
* PE certification preferred but not required
* Experience in project management, construction management, and commercial construction
* Proficiency in bidding, estimating software, pricing, cost estimation, and proposals

* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Team player with ability to work in a highly cross-functional and virtual environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.31/hr.

Responsibilities and Duties

Track and compare planned vs. actual time and cost results and make recommendations to correct either positive or negative variances.
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
Develop RFIs and clarifications to ensure adequate subcontractor coverage.
