Cost Estimating 2 Position Overview
Analyzes engineering and specifications, including concepts, sketches, blueprints, bills of material, statements of work and/or sample layouts, and calculates production costs either parametrically or using labor and material pricing schedules, similar to analysis and historical data. This position will be onsite.
Principal Accountabilities:
Collects cost impact assessment from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
Computes detailed cost labor estimates for composite fabrication and assembly operations including support labor.
Load estimates into ProPricer (pricing software)
Prepares and maintains historical cost data.
Creates cost models for cost estimating elements.
Prepares cost reports and basis of estimate justification to present findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors.
Fact Find / Negotiation support of proposals submitted to various customers.
Basic understanding of FAR compliance and TINA (Truth in Negotiations Act) would be beneficial.
Experience and Education Requisites
Must be a US Citizen or a Permanent resident (i.e., ‘Green Card') per ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) guidelines.
This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or a foreign person per ITAR.
The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3-5 years of related experience.

RIB U.S. COST is seeking Senior Construction Cost Estimators, specializing in electrical, mechanical or civil, to join our Dallas Fort Worth areas team to provide conceptual through definitive estimates. RIB is a leader in providing project controls related services across all vertical markets within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will become part of team that is setting new standards in Project Delivery for industry in applying new methods and new technology to create innovative and value-added results to every step of the process.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects as required by client's documents
Analyze and negotiate contractor change orders and claims on behalf of the client
Consult with clients, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, and resolve issues.
Support the development of energy and sustainability analysis
Perform miscellaneous other job-related duties as assigned, which may include value engineering and progress review conferences
Requirements:
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Ability to develop estimates at multiple phases from design through construction
Knowledge of, and proficiency in discipline-related systems
Four-year degree in a related field
Five (5) years of experience is required in the estimating field or in a related area which may include construction field engineering, contracting, claims and other industries relating to estimating.
At least three (3) years experience with a contractor during the construction phase of a project is strongly desired. Experience with large infrastructure and/or aviation projects required.
Proficiency in computer skills including MS OFFICE Suite
Proficient utilizing estimating tools
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and clients
Strong desire to learn or expand upon new methods and software.
