Provide innovative solutions to complex issues as they arise related to cost, lead-times, trade partners, and/or specified products or materials
Develop RFI's and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage
Acts as a resource for project management by providing cost information and developing cost estimates for changes in the work, during different construction phases.
Ensure that the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently and client expectations are exceeded
Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs and expectations
Periodically participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews
Perform additional assignments and assume additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements
We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful Estimator candidate will possess:
Associate or Bachelor degree in construction, architecture or engineering is preferred
3+ years of experience in commercial construction
5 years experience in commercial construction as an Estimator
Proven track record of winning profitable projects in a competitive bid environment
Must have experience with the bidding process: soliciting bids, communicating with the bidders, evaluating subcontractor proposals, using bid tally sheets, etc.
Proficient knowledge of pre-construction and its practices
Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast pace environment
Must be able to recommend creative, innovative and cost saving solutions to projects
Ability to identify, adapt to, and resolve complex issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as detail orientated
Possess strong mathematical and computer skills
Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel), prior use of RedTeam, Takeoff and sage estimating a plus

Job Summary:
As a Commercial Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical projects. You will analyze project specifications, work closely with vendors and subcontractors, and collaborate with our project management team to ensure successful bid proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and electrical requirements.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial electrical projects.
Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
Identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures.
Work closely with the project management team to ensure smooth transitions from estimation to execution.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather critical project details.
Utilize estimating software and company databases to streamline the estimation process.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial projects.
Education: Electrical trade background or degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
Proficiency in estimating software (Accubid, McCormick, or similar).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis.
