Prepare “take off” and check for completeness. Coordinate with 3rd party quantity take-off consultants when so utilized.
Prepare pricing for all self-preformed work and adjust standard productivity in accordance with job requirements.
Prepare estimate summary sheets, subcontractor/vendor comparisons, and bid sheets.
Communicate with designers on contract document items not clearly shown on the bid documents. Document using RFI's (Request for Information).
Qualifications
5-10 years of job experience in commercial construction highly preferred.

Estimating Leadership
Lead and manage the preparation of detailed cost estimates for projects from conceptual through final bid documents.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:

Lead pre-construction duties and meetings with owners, clients, and engineers, serving as the company interface between owners and architects.
Manage and maintain project folders and files, including drawings, specifications, addenda, ASI, RFI, and other relevant documents.
Prepare complete cost estimate analyses and write detailed bid proposals, including scope of work and qualifications.
Organize bid and project documentation for seamless hand-offs to the fulfillment team for awarded projects.
Review quotes and estimates with the project team, ensuring alignment with project scope and objectives.
Stay current with industry costs, escalation trends, and market pricing to develop competitive proposals that target optimal profit margins.
Create and document proposal review strategy meetings, pre-read documentation for project reviews, and post-estimate project reviews.
Establish and maintain respectful and cooperative working relationships with co-workers, field personnel, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, owners, general contractors, and other business associates.
Experience and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the miscellaneous metals and/or structural steel industry.
3-5 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, with a solid understanding of commercial construction and estimating processes.
Strong expertise in steel pricing, vendor negotiation, and developing budgetary proposals.
Familiarity with construction bid processes, including the ability to read and interpret contract drawings and project specifications.
Experience with Tekla EPM, Powerfab, Revit Structures, Tekla Structures, and AutoCAD is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, demonstrate leadership, and drive results to completion.
In-depth knowledge of AISC, AWS, ASME, and other relevant building codes and standards.
