Job Brief:
The primary function of the Senior Estimator is to provide accurate bid proposals and scope analysis for potential projects. Additional estimator responsibilities will include quote review, project management, and material purchasing. The Estimator will prepare pricing estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders for existing contracts. He/she must exercise good judgment and have experience in working with purchasing, labor, equipment, and transportation costs. These qualifications are necessary to arrive at full cost estimates with appropriate profit margins to achieve company goals.
Estimator Responsibilities:
Review drawings, specifications, and other documents, to successfully bid jobs at a profit, for fabrication and erection when indicated
Understand how to quantify labor and material costs on a project
Negotiate with customers and communicate with DSI staff
Work with the Project Manager following a successful bid, to ensure an accurate transferring of information and defining of scope, including revisions, additions, and deletions
Present bids in their entirety, at job kickoff meetings
Continue to work with Project Management on pricing issues pertaining to the bid or to revisions.
Deal with customers in a firm but friendly manner
Know what is outside of our scope and what to sub out or to exclude
Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
Rapidly develops or possess advanced level skills at using DH Pace estimating processes and procedures and utilizing DH Pace estimating software as well as other business software programs. (Excel, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, BAAN, SAM, etc.)
Rapidly develops or possesses advanced level knowledge of door and dock related products, understanding functionality, special features, usage options as well as pricing variance based on specific job needs
Rapidly develops understanding of Core Product Lines, Vendors, Labor Standards
Educates sales team on product options and assist customers in product selection to ensure sale and best project outcome.
Perform effective Quote Request Review, Scope Creation, Material List, and Product Selections to generate accurate Project Cost Estimates and Bids
Estimates advanced and complex projects of limited project size, writing all proposals clearly and concisely for review and approval by Manager prior to customer's review
Promote and maintain a positive attitude toward outside contractors, architects and individuals within the Company regardless of the circumstances
Understand vendor relationships and build strong relationships with contacts.

Prepare project estimates, job quotations, and maintain cost and schedule data for wind turbine maintenance activities, such as; fluid changes, uptown gearing, composites, and large corrective projects.

Analyze wind turbine project data and generate reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
Develop and maintain project documentation, proposals, and tracking tools.
Monitor wind energy project progress, update schedules and budgets, and identify potential risks.

Support continuous improvement of estimating, reporting, and project workflows.
Requirements
Experience in project estimating or planning, ideally in renewable energy, specifically wind turbine maintenance or construction.
