Our Conceptual Estimators lead a collaborative preconstruction effort and provide ongoing budget validation and estimates through the preconstruction phase of a project. Projects consist of a wide range of commercial construction project types. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and lead detailed and timely conceptual budgets and estimates through a collaborative process with clients, design teams, project managers, and trade partners to ensure complete estimates in all project stages.
Review and understand all bid documents and project requirements to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project in order to develop scope of work and estimate costs.
Engage and coordinate with trade partners to develop quantity takeoffs and pricing of scope. Verify with trade partners prior to bidding the project schedule, manpower, and phasing requirements.
Create and maintain trade partner solicitation list for company use and distribution.
Review and understand all contract bid documents and project requirements to determine project constructability and product material requirements.
Work with the project team to develop the project's general conditions for review and approval with Project Executive.
Create and maintain scopes of work and exclusions through the preconstruction process to detail and communicate with the client and design team on what has been included with the conceptual estimate all the way through the final budget.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, trade partners, and internal team.
Mentor, train, and develop less experienced associates.
Lead, support, and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Understand non-discrimination policy and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.
Lead, generate, and help resolve budget changes through value engineering.
During the preconstruction process, identify project risk with the project team, client, and design team to develop solutions to mitigate the project risk early in the design.
Complete and/or verify the quantity survey in On-Screen Take off and organize information appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work history.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is required.

Job Brief:
The primary function of the Senior Estimator is to provide accurate bid proposals and scope analysis for potential projects. Additional estimator responsibilities will include quote review, project management, and material purchasing. The Estimator will prepare pricing estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders for existing contracts. He/she must exercise good judgment and have experience in working with purchasing, labor, equipment, and transportation costs. These qualifications are necessary to arrive at full cost estimates with appropriate profit margins to achieve company goals.

+ Read and comprehend construction plans and specifications.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Administer Commercial Direct Order Program. Provide quotes, input and process orders, and invoice customers.
Configure and enter orders for custom (non-standard) commercial applications for door centers.
Provide technical support and quotes as required for all Amarr supplied commercial products including rolling sheet, rolling slat, sectional, operators, and other new and/or specialty items provided by Amarr.
Provide technical support and product information to customers, door centers, and other departments.
Provide quotes for commercial products to customers, door centers, and other departments.
Coordinate/expedite purchasing, production, and shipment of special items needed for commercial applications.
Provide excellent and expert customer service.
Provide or coordinate emergency technical support and parts replacement for installers of commercial products.
Research commercial projects that are in the planning stages and/or open for bid. Prepare competitive bids as needed for the installing dealer and/or Amarr F&I.
Provide quotes and technical support for dock equipment, high speed doors and other commercial specialty products to customers, door centers, and other departments.
Demonstrate proficiency with Amarr commercial Rolling Steel Slat and Sheet door products and programs while developing expert level knowledge by obtaining the latest training and certifications on the Rolling Steel Slat and Sheet door products and programs.
Develop proficiency with Amarr commercial specialty products and programs.
Perform administrative and business functions as directed by supervisor.
Communicate and maintain company policies, procedures and standard practices for all operations.
Interact with Engineering, Purchasing, and Management to ensure Amarr is utilizing appropriate and effective materials and processes for all commercial applications.
Ongoing review of ACE/Commercial processes and procedures. Suggest opportunities to reduce time/add value to the processes and assist with documentation as needed.
Review operations of competing organizations and makes recommendations where necessary.
Basic understanding and proficiency training on Spec quoting based on project 3-Part Specifications listing substitutions and omissions.
As part of training, assist with Architectural packages, drawings, and take-offs as requested by your supervisor.
Basic understanding and proficiency training on the use of CSI / AIA forms and processes as needed during the spec sales process.
