The General Estimator position is the fourth level in our Estimating track. This position will be responsible for creating and managing estimates and job in the residential, commercial, and industrial lines of business. This position will be responsible to meet with clients, develop quality and competitive estimates using Xactimate software, manage work through completion, review budgets and communicate progress with clients and management. General Estimator's clientele shifts to large loss insurance adjustors, brokers and commercial clients. Territory expands to large regional area with some national clientele. GE's respond to regional and potentially CAT situations for their clients Responsibilities Must be able to complete multi-sketches with multi-levels and/or roof sketches with accuracy Create accurate scopes, very few over/under scopes Create accurate floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches in Xactimate Sketch, Must have working knowledge of applicable building codes Create and adhere to acceptable budgets and address overages as they present themselves Required to use the BELFOR naming convention for estimates, revised estimates, proposals, change orders, etc. Must demonstrate a knowledge of all local building codes Maintain a construction schedule and work with trades and management to ensure work is completed on time. Identify and present solutions when additional resources are needed. Demonstrate proficiency with source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, contents and deodorization techniques Proficient with investigative demolition, controlled demolition, decontamination structure cleaning and deodorization services Participate in continued training with BELFOR University -- Basic Xactimate training as part of preparation for passing Estimator Level, 2, or 3 User Certification test, dependent on Estimator role. Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator with a strong background in project controls to join our team. This position will be located in Calcasieu Pass, Louisiana and will directly report to the Senior Director of Project Controls at the site and functionally to the Vice President, Estimating. The Project Estimator will be responsible for interfacing with the contracts team for all cost trends, contract changes, preparing estimates for execution changes and assessments of impacts, engaging with the project team to assist in the understanding and development and processing of the estimates to support the management of change process for the LNG Process facilities and supporting facilities. This position will support the change management program from identification of trends to estimate development through contract change handover to Company Contracts & Procurement team for execution. The position will also play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs and timelines, contributing to effective project planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess a keen attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of project management principles. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements, scope, and specifications. Analyze project documentation, including drawings, contracts, and technical documents, to develop comprehensive estimates. Utilize industry-specific software and tools to create accurate cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement and construction specialists to ensure alignment of estimates with project goals and objectives, in line with area of responsibility. Identify potential risks and uncertainties that could impact project costs and schedules. Assist in the evaluation of bid proposals by providing analysis of cost estimates and supporting documentation. Continuously monitor and update estimate details as new information becomes available for their area of expertise. Participate in regular project review meetings to provide insights into cost-related matters and to adjust estimates based on project progress. Assist in the collation and summarization of historical information related to the project and assist with the creation of benchmark information for estimate comparison and analysis Other duties as needed Job Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven track record of estimating and project controls experience in construction, engineering, or a related industry. Experience in LNG Industry as well as Power production industry, preferred Strong proficiency in project estimation software, cost modeling tools, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and trends related to cost estimation and project controls. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project requirements. Assist in the collation and summarization of historical information related to the project and assist with the creation of benchmark information for estimate comparison and analysis Strong organizational skills to manage multiple estimates and priorities simultaneously Additional Information: This is a full-time position in the site office.
