You will coordinate and synchronize work planning with Operations, Marketing, Business Development, and Executive teams. As a resource, you will participate in internal meetings, presentations, job site visits, and meetings with owners, designers, and consultants. You will be responsible for creating internal budgets for staffing on specific projects and managing contract schedules. Responsibilities + Perform quantity take-offs, annotations, and make assumptions and qualifications. + Procure, distribute, and manage subcontractor bids while providing value engineering analysis and options. + Coordinate with Estimating support personnel to confirm the status of subcontractor bidding. + Conduct scope review meetings with subcontractors and facilitate internal estimate reviews with team members. + Present estimates to clients and develop, provide, and track Alternates/Value Engineering. + Work with local distributors to find subcontractors for specified products and assist with pricing change orders. + Participate in the subcontractor prequalification process and finalize scope packages. + Facilitate scope meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and project managers. + Negotiate final subcontractor awards and develop Authorizations to Proceed, if required. + Attend weekly purchasing meetings. Essential Skills + Proficiency in estimation and construction project management. + Experience with estimating software, Bluebeam, Autodesk Takeoff, and Excel. + Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of estimating experience. + Experience within academic or multi-unit projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with the preconstruction phase of projects. Work Environment This role is based in an office environment. Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotes on proposals Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists. Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated cost to actual cost and determine the reason for any discrepancies. Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts. Thoroughly reads and understands RFPs and RFQs for preparation of proposals.
