What You Will Do
Review incoming estimating requests and develop accurate and timely deliverables according to department SOP
Communicate timely and professionally internally and externally according to SOP
Follow SOP for Go/No Go of pursuits
Determine strategy for opportunities: pricing and markup, vendor options, VE options, etc.
Complete appropriate handoff according to SOP, including participation in kick-off meetings
Attend select Product and Project Web Calls with technical discussions for clients and potential clients
Coordinate marketing efforts for opportunities to be used with Estimating deliverables
Coordinate contributing PM and Accounting Team efforts for imminent award on upcoming opportunities
Develop relationships with employees, departments, external customers, vendors, and rep firms
Review deliverables according to department SOP to ensure accuracy and proper product positioning and for coaching/training of staff· Collaborate with the Sales team to qualify leads and ensure the appropriate deliverables and deadlines are established
Standardize and audit data storage SOP's: folders, emails, files, templates, plans, attachments, etc.
Develop standardized methods for deliverables (budget numbers, pricing and line/option comparison, etc.)
Audit estimated vs actual project costs, P&L's and make needed amendments to future cost calcs
Continuous Improvement via checks-and-balances, meetings, feedback and team accountability

Are a leader
Have a high aptitude in math and basic geometric concepts
Possess excellent listening, memory, communication and presentation skills
Have a strong attention to detail and ability to see inconsistencies and missing data/info
Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, especially with files and email structure
Exhibit strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage many simultaneous projects at various stages and produce deliverables on time
Work well within a team as well as with other individuals, teams and departments
Are proficient in the use of MS Office Platforms (Outlook, Teams, Excel), Blue Beam take-offs, and other basic software platforms; very strong skills in MS Excel required
Can read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings and language
Are able to review and analyze information to determine specific project needs and make product recommendations that improve the likelihood of CARVART products being used
Have a strong understanding of developing proposals, building and modifying cost worksheets and working with parts lists and vendor pricing.
Are creative with alternatives to reduce sell prices and look to alternate products/options during value-engineering exercises in order to remain within client budget requirements
Are able to articulate complex product solutions and deviations, both verbally and written
Have the ability to create and maintain project costing sheets with multiple versions and options, along with all supporting data, quotes and communications
Have management experience (preferred)
Have a Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, or Architecture, and / or experience equivalent

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the estimating department.
Supervise, train, and mentor junior estimators.
Review bid packages, specifications, drawings, and addenda to develop accurate takeoffs and estimates.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, etc.
Update and maintain material pricing databases; work with vendors to ensure accuracy.
Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline workflows
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and company leadership to ensure continuity from estimate through award.
