The Estimator's primary responsibility and accountability is to provide an exceptional and successful customer experience while creating estimates, coordinating repair needs for customers including all communication, informing and updating customers and insurance companies throughout the repair process. The Estimator accurately assesses the damage of vehicles and documents needed repairs and parts replacement on the damage appraisal. ESSTENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare a detailed estimate by completing quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate input and studies for all items incorporated in the assigned scope
Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
Creating labor estimates for any project
Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
Managing bids from vendors and contractors
Using bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis
Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
Compiling and recording actual costs
Serve as liaison with subcontractors, design team (architects, engineers, consultants) and client. Point of contact for managing assigned trade subcontractors and distributing information
Support constructability reviews through communication with the project team, designers, and subcontractor market.
Develop a value analysis study by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-efficient
Responsible for understanding all factors required for a comprehensive trade package scope, including contract documents, site logistics, schedule, coordination, means and methods
Coordinate with operations staff and fellow estimators to ensure that General Conditions and General Requirement items are properly addressed in the estimate.
Prepare comparison analysis to previous estimate for assigned scope
Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work. Document information into Bid Recording Sheet, organize and participate in Post Bid Review
Manage action items from Post Bid and finalize subcontract scope. Make recommendations to the project lead for award
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience partnering on large-scale projects successfully from start to finish
Outstanding communication skills verbal and written
Ability to establish collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent technical skills. Proficient in reading, understanding, and applying blueprints and job specifications utilizing various software
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and employees
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors in engineering or construction management is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of construction background
