How will you contribute to the team?
• Interrogates drawings and other project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates in accordance with industry accepted practices.
• Works with project team to develop clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimate. Develops relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.
• Performs accurate quantity takeoffs from design documents in 2D and 3D (BIM) format.

What will you contribute?
• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus four years relevant experience.
• A professional designation such as RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, LEED AP, RA, or any appraisal or real estate licensure is preferred.
• Must have strong technology skills and knowledge of standard estimating system functionality (incl. 2D and 3D QTO). Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and Uniformat WBS's is preferred..
• Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI and Microsoft Project.

JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION ESTIMATOR
LOCATION: Auburn Hills, MI
OBJECTIVE
The function of the Estimator position within our Estimating and Pre-Construction team is to work with engineers, specialty consultants, and sub-contractors to establish detailed construction estimates. Project sizes typically range from $25,000 to $100,000,000 USD and may include a combination of construction management, general contractor, and design/build type projects. Some travel may be included in the role.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Bid Administration
Review subcontractor bid packages and clarification letters.
Transmit bid documents, addenda, and other pertinent bid information to subcontractors.
Ensure proper coverage from subcontractors on Bid Day.
Utilize creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors.
Manage the overall bid/proposal submittal process to ensure the owners requirements and deadlines are met no exceptions.
Review and approve Bid Form and supporting documents on Bid Day for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to owner/owner representative (i.e. last set of eyes).
Work and coordinate with Estimating Support.
Prepare subcontracting MBE / Diversity Plan if required.
Comply with all CCC ISO Standard procedures.
Project Knowledge
Review bid requirements thoroughly and ask follow-up questions as needed.
Thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned.
Develop RFIs and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage.
Perform a comprehensive "Bid Day Analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades.
Create bid lists that fit the scope of the job, ensuring that we have the right subs for the project.
Include value-engineering ideas on every bid.
Project Turnover
Properly turn over bid documents and sub buyout information to Project Management in a timely manner.
Review documents with the Project Management team and highlight areas of concern.
Review job cost with the Project Management team and highlight any subs/material vendors that still need to be awarded.
Complete project kick-off form to ensure compliance.
Subcontractor Award and Management
Thoroughly check requirements to buy the proper scope.
Seek & qualify new subcontractors.
Award subs in a timely manner to ensure the release of materials.
Ensure that subs commit to the project schedule.
Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors.
CORE COMPETENCIES
7+ years of Equipment Installation, Millwright & Rigging experience in automotive or equivalent markets.

Under the direction of the Area Director, the Estimator is responsible for developing competitive, responsible, and responsive estimates to meet our client's needs:
Essential Job Accountabilities:
Review drawings, specifications and project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to generate production assumptions
Review “take-off” quantities to ensure accuracy of data
Compile cost of labor, materials, equipment, and other applicable factors
Communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure completeness of estimate
Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase competitiveness of the bid
Utilize existing cost history for pricing analysis
Present estimate and participate in bid reviews with senior management
Perform turn over meetings with operational teams to ensure a seamless transition of means and methods
Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market
Participate in a safety program to meet or exceed the company's safety standards and foster a culture of safety
Promote quality standards and take steps to provide a product and service that is a source of pride for our company and exceeds expectations for our customers
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
Proficiency with MS Office products & HCSS estimating software or similar
5+ years of estimating experience, preferably with sewer and water projects
Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction principles and equipment capabilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
