Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Estimating
1.1. Review bid opportunities to evaluate the fit of the capabilities and business objectives of the
Company.
1.2. Reads and understands the specifications, drawings, notes, etc. in bid requests.
1.3. Request clarification of any issues from the potential client to be able to submit a complete bid.
1.4. Electronically “Takes off” each sold job, using the Company's selected estimating system
(currently QuickBid and OST).
1.5. If necessary, visit the job site to ensure that unusual site or production requirements are
properly considered in the bid.
1.6. Reviews estimates and bids with the Vice President: Sales and estimating before they are
submitted to the client; reviews those with the President as required under Company policy.
1.7. Aggressively and professionally follow up on all submitted bids with the view to maximize the
number of bids that become actual projects for the company.
1.8. Obtains reasons and bid spreads for bids not awarded to the company, tracks and records such
reasons, and reports reasons to the Vice President of Sales and Estimating.
1.9. Obtains and critically reviews vendor prices for bid projects.
1.10. Conducts sales calls with customers and keeps detailed records of all sales calls and follow-ups.
1.11. Reconciles the contract value with the submitted bid value, including all alternatives
1.12. Compiles, reviews, explains, and turns over estimate packages to Project Management and field
personnel.
1.13. Organizes and conducts turn-over meetings among the estimating, project management, and
field operations within one week of the award of a project.
1.14. Provides information to the Estimating Administrator to maintain the bid log and update it when
status changes so that it is always up to date.
1.15. Follows all estimating procedures and carries out all required duties.
2. Financial and General Management
2.1. Reviews periodic updates of employee and equipment billing rates and burden percentages
2.2. Updates the estimating database with actual production units;
2.3. Attends estimating meetings, identifies areas where the job financial performance deviates from
the profit plan, and identifies areas that need adjustment in the estimating system to accurately
reflect job conditions.
3. General
3.1. Maintains a high level of expertise with the company's project management system.
3.2. Maintains professional, cooperative relationships with general contractors, subcontractors,
engineers, architects, and owners.
3.3. Meets with estimating and project management employees regularly to ensure that proper
information flows in both directions and that progress toward stated goals and objectives is
being achieved.
3.4. Assists Project Managers and Superintendents to maintain agreed job cost budgets.
3.5. Maintains a high level of expertise with the estimating system and assists in maintaining the
database.
3.6. Ensures that procedures and tools are in place to promote fast and accurate estimates.
3.7. Develops and maintains an excellent working knowledge of the company's software and other
operating systems.
3.8. Compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
3.9. Trains, motivates, and manages subordinates to achieve their full potential.
3.10. Performs other duties as necessary to support efficient construction operations.

Requirements
1. BA/BS in a business or technical discipline
2. 5+ years of sales and estimating experience in a subcontracting environment.
3. Computer skills, including at least MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. A knowledge of the company's
software systems, currently OST, Quick Bid, AutoDesk Build & MS Dynamics, which is on a level
proficient to discharge these positions responsibilities in a diligent and expeditious manner.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Estimator position will be based out of our office in Eustis, Florida. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, highly organized individual to join the Estimating team to provide all facets of construction project support, including submittal processing, material management, and budget analysis. The ideal candidate will have estimating experience with transmission and substation projects.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Prepare cost estimates for projects as per company business model and industry standards
Collaborate with project management staff and external design firms on design-build proposals
Attend pre-qualification events and site visits as required
Manage, oversee, or perform take-offs, evaluations, and quantity surveys
Participate and contribute to meetings with estimating staff and operations teams
Analyze bid documents to determine the scope of work and prepare the bid in compliance with Owners' requirements
Communicate and maintain relationships with subcontractors
Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals
Prepare all Requests for Information (RFIs)
Suggest value engineering options and costs
Work with project management teams throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction functions and change orders

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience in transmission, distribution, and substations With a Heavy Focus on Transmission
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field is a plus
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating/PM software systems (HCSS Heavy Bid, B2W, Accubid, Quickpen, ProCore, P6, etc.)
Able to work independently or with a team to complete estimates or proposals efficiently while meeting deadlines

The Project Estimator is responsible for preparation of estimates for a broad range of site development and heavy civil construction projects throughout the Central Florida area. Projects include, but are not limited to, residential and/or multi-family site work packages, industrial/warehouse site work packages, commercial site work packages and municipal, county and FDOT roadway projects.
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed analysis of RFPs, RFQs, construction documents and specifications to validate overall project requirements.
Solicit bids for materials and subcontractors as necessary to prepare a complete estimate.
Ensure completion of quantity and material take-offs utilizing AGTEK software program with the ability to identify any missing information.
Coordinate with CAD technicians and additional in-house support personnel for timely compilation of material take-offs, vendor quotes, subcontractor bids, etc.
Perform site visits of projects to accurately assess existing conditions and identify any potential problems or challenges that may be present.
Attend pre-bid meetings as required.
Timely preparation of RFIs for any questions or additional information that may be required to satisfactorily complete estimate within the specified timeframe.
Correspond with Owner, Engineer, municipality, applicable governing authority, etc. as needed to provide a complete and accurate cost estimate.
Prepare itemized cost estimates with detailed breakdowns utilizing HCSS Heavy Bid software.
Establish a critical path schedule and preparation of any related or necessary exhibits for submission with estimates.
Coordinate with Project Managers as necessary to assist with change orders, plan revisions and year-end warranty close-outs on previously awarded projects.
Manage bid document control to include email correspondence, vendor quotes, subcontractor bids, take-offs, etc. for successful transfer to the Project Management department.
Attend project hand-off meetings with the Project Management department for awarded projects to discuss scope, limitations, exclusions, site-specific circumstances, potential issues, etc.
Assist Senior Estimator and company management in pursuit of new stakeholders and bid opportunities.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous estimating experience with Site Development and Heavy Civil Construction preferred (Earthwork, Utility Installation, Roadway Infrastructure)
Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, HCSS Heavy Bid, AGTEK and Bluebeam
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders, vendors and subcontractors
Ability to work as part of a team which includes mentoring and/or coaching direct and indirect reports
Exceptional organizational, planning and communication skills
