Your Responsibilities on the Team
Create material take-offs for all existing, new, and revised plans. Initial need is for framing category.
Maintain the take-offs of all active plans.

Essential Functions:
Market to potential customers including national accounts, adjusters, end users, etc.
Establish a network and vet qualified subcontractors for the various trades.
Calls on prospects to provide estimate for the rebuild of structure after a loss.
Reviews the project, determines the scope of work to be completed and prepares an estimate for the project.
Reviews estimate and job scope with insurance representatives and customer. Obtains approval to start project. Prepares proper paperwork to begin project.
Maintains good communication and coordinates work schedule with operations personnel until the project is completed.
Communicates with local management on any issues that may arise with the during the work of the project
Ensures that any quality issues are resolved.
Responsible for ensuring that proper protocol is followed in relation to payment arrangements.
Manages the project until completion and follows up with insurance company/customer until all payments are received.
Prepares a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up and adherence to goals; reports on special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activity.
Skills and/or Knowledge Requirements
Proficiency with Xactimate estimating software.
Knowledge of production and processing. Experience with raw material, waste, quality control, costs and techniques for maximizing project.

The Bid Estimator is a critical cross-functional contributor who supports preconstruction planning, solution development, and program-level coordination for mission-critical Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) projects. This role serves as a liaison between sales, engineering, operations, and the client-ensuring alignment on scope, design intent, and technical consistency across multiple data center projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Estimating & Costing
Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and scope of work to prepare detailed BMS cost estimates.
Produce accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns.
Generate bills of quantities, take-offs, and pricing schedules.
Assess project risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative design solutions to optimize costs.
Bid Preparation
Prepare technical and commercial proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
Coordinate with engineering teams to clarify system architecture, control strategies, and equipment selections.
Present bid summaries and recommendations to management.
Support the sales team with pricing strategies and tender clarifications.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Verify vendor technical compliance and pricing accuracy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and external partners.
Ensure clean project handoff by documenting all scope assumptions, design strategies, and client expectations.
Project Support
Participate in pre-bid meetings, design workshops, and customer engagement sessions as the technical representative.
Provide cost-to-budget handover documents to project delivery teams after award.
Assist with variations, re-costing, and pricing updates during the project lifecycle as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in BMS, or control systems-preferably within data center or mission-critical environments.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (HVAC controls, PLC/DDC controllers, sensors, networking, IoT integration). EPMS knowledge and experience is a plus
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control system drawings.
Proficiency with estimation tools, Excel, and BMS design/engineering software (e.g., Niagara, BACnet tools, AutoCAD reading).
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids with tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CSI Division 25/26/27 scope.
Familiarity with Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB, or similar controls/EPMS platforms in addition to BMS experience.
Experience working with OEMs, integrators, or electrical contractors in mission-critical verticals.
Familiarity with construction delivery models including design-build, design-assist, and integrated project delivery.
Travel: Up to 20%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
