Ethos company history timeline
Founded in 1998, Ethos provides group classes, private lessons, summer camps and music outreach programs to over 7,000 youth across Oregon.
Ethos was officially organized in 1998 by Charles Lewis and a dedicated group of volunteer staff members and instructors in direct response to state funding cuts for arts education.
The business grew from here through various acquisitions before all businesses were re-branded under ‘TurboCare’ and established as a business unit within Siemens in 2006.
After receiving regulatory approval for the deal, EthosEnergy was formed on May 6, 2014.
Ethos was founded in 2016 by Peter Colis and Lingke Wang, two entrepreneurs who were roommates while earning MBAs at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
In August 2019, the company raised $60 million in a Series C round, led by GV, Sequoia, Goldman Sachs and Accel.
In May 2021, a $200 million Series D investment valued the company at $2 billion.
