This role will involve working with architects, business stakeholders, and team members to analyze the design, and do the detail technical design and development for new ETL programs. The architecture and design for the ETL environment is custom development using Korn Shell Scripting (KSH), SQL, and related tools. The data warehouse environment is Teradata. While a high degree of technical expertise is needed, this is not a “heads down” coding position. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with five or more years' experience focused on the development of ETL processes. Technical expertise will focus on KSH, SQL, Linux / Unix, and related skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: As part of the ETL team, develop, review, and refine technical design for ETL processes. Understanding of data warehouse architectures and designs including Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, Slowly Changing Dimensions, and Aggregation Techniques. Data cleansing, data modeling, and other data related experience. Performance tuning and optimization experience. Additional experience in Oracle OD / RA, SSIS, MicroStrategy BI, and Message Based integration is a plus.
