Brief Description:
The Restoration Technician is a first responder on property loss situations and helps mitigate damage in residential and commercial structures. Technicians are responsible for water damage mitigation, structural board-up and security, on-location cleaning, microbial remediation, content pack-outs, content processing/deodorization, content storage, and handling.

Minimum Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

Typical assignments include:

· Performing physical searches of detained individuals, their vehicles, and their immediate surroundings for weapons, contraband, currency, and other evidence.
· Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws.
· Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.
If you have previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience, you may qualify at the GS-11 grade level.
GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, with the authority granted by the state or government to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes, performing primary duties in an official law enforcement capacity such as:

Grounds Maintenance includes but is not limited to: preparation, planting, mowing repair, replacement and renovation of ground covers, plants, shrubs, sidewalks, streets and lots; small tree removal and pruning; operation and maintenance of surface and sewer water systems as well as manual and computer based irrigation systems; use, operate, and maintain tools and equipment including tractors, mowers, snowplows, and material handling; operate and use moderate to heavy equipment in efficient safe manner; refuse and garbage maintenance; move and haul property as instructed; some limited brick and concrete work and maintenance of retaining walls; carry out all duties in safe and efficient manner consistent with University policies and procedures. Varying amount of after hour and special event hours as needed; perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience with and knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures as stated above; previous experience with manual and power operated equipment including all types of mowers, edgers, chainsaws, etc. related to this position; good comprehensive skills including ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions; prior experience operating all related implements and equipment with agility and safety; work as a team and independently; ability to operate forklift; demonstrated good safety, attendance and work record; must have a valid Illinois driver's license; D.O.T. medium weight truck physical required.
