Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Project Engineer duties include the following.

Plans and implements engineering projects including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements according to the client's requirements.
Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables.
Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of technical documents, etc.
Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contract requirements, and related specifications.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design problems.
Directs integration of technical activities.
Prepares interim and completion project reports.
Interfaces with clients to provide project status reports and ensure client needs are met.
Provides status and progress reports to client, project team, and upper management.
Other duties of the Project Engineer include the following.
Attends occasional project meetings.
Participates in local professional societies (ASCE, ACI, ACEC, etc.
).
Supervisory Responsibilities The Project Engineer directly supervises employees and subcontract employees on his/her project.

Job Requirements
* Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport, possible international travel/assignments may be required.
* Possess a bachelor's degree in Ecological, environmental, geological, geospatial, marine sciences, or related fields.
* Have minimum of 2 years of experience in government contracting, preferably within the surveying, hydrography or offshore industry experience.
* Have a minimum of 5 years or more of tendering, contract, or project management experience.
* General understanding of the application of geo-data services.
* Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications and CRM tools.

We are actively seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for a full-time position located at our offices in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana. We will provide training and support necessary for career advancement with the objective of developing the candidate into a departmental management role. You will be working with an experienced team on high visibility projects in the Heavy Industrial Division. The projects include, but are not limited to, geotechnical aspects of design and construction of commercial buildings, industrial facilities (refineries, LNG, and chemical plants), highways, bridges, flood control structures, pipelines, power plants and water and wastewater facilities.
Duties include supporting Senior Engineering Staff in the management and execution of engineering projects. Routine activities include the following:
Preparation of project proposals and cost estimates
Assisting with overall development and management of engineering projects
Partner with key stakeholders in the coordination and supervision of field and engineering tasks
Performing engineering analyses and calculations, developing recommendations and preparing engineering reports for geotechnical projects
Maintaining client expectations for project quality and schedule.
Attend project and client meetings
Participating in training and Professional Development opportunities
Training and development of TWE Staff Professionals
Assist other departments with geotechnical and other engineering services
Provide management assistance with interoffice project coordination
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional geotechnical experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (with geotechnical engineering emphasis) is a plus
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Louisiana, or ability to obtain licensure in 3 months
Solid oral and written communication skills and ability to work well in multiple teams
Familiar with standard geotechnical engineering software
Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas with an entrepreneurial mindset
Familiar with deep foundation design, installation and quality control testing
