Evangelical Home company history timeline

1886

In 1886, the second home, Tabea, was also built on Harvey Street and housed the elderly.

1888

The third home erected by the original Zoar Society was completed in 1888 as the first home for girls.

1905

In 1905, a new, expanded facility on Detroit’s West Grand Boulevard is dedicated.

1971

More changes to the organization came about in 1971 with the development of a program for 36 individuals with developmental disabilities, replacing the dependent children’s hospital.

1976

1976; available at the Saline District Library, Local History Room

1997

The following year, in 1997, the Sterling Heights branch opened Pathways Transitioncare, a 19-bed post acute unit including the addition of a 2,600 square foot therapeutic rehabilitation facility.

1999

Also in 1999, Executive Director Doctor Lowell Shrupp retired after 30 years of service and Ms.

2000

Dunnigan, Brian Leigh, "The First Thing Necessary to an Emigrant", The Quarto, Clements Library, University of Michigan, : 2000; one-time permission to copy granted by Brian L. Dunnigan.

2010

The LifeChoices and LifeChoice Solutions Programs were launched in 2010.

2014

Shared Services Home Health Care – Monroe opens in 2014.

2016

In 2016, Evangelical Homes purchased the former Saline Community Hospital which has been developed as The EHM Professional Office Building.

2019

In November of 2019, the Redies Outpatient Center opens to serve the needs of home-based clients.
