Hiring Department University of Missouri - Kansas City KCUR Public Radio Events are a critical component of KCUR/Classical KC's effort to cultivate and bring diverse audiences together and encourage face-to-face discussion and dialogue. The full time Manager of KCUR and Classical KC Events works with staff and external partners to develop, plan and manage live experiences; produces in-person events aligned with KCUR's newsroom, Classical KC, community engagement, development and collaborations; and creates much-needed "spaces" for civic engagement throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
This person must have an enthusiastic and collaborative approach to producing events. Job Description
* Initiate, manage and execute the production of live events that are consistent with KCUR and Classical KC's mission.
* Develop and recommend the annual events budget, and manage events - including new initiatives - within that budget.
* Assist with and execute event marketing and promotion strategies, KPIs and objectives, and conduct post-event assessments, including RadioActive, community engagement, major donor and fundraising/membership events.
* Recommend, develop, and implement effective event plans for generating revenues whenever possible.
* Train, supervise and manage the Volunteer & Events Coordinator.
* Support activities for the Generation Listen Leadership Council and the RadioActive committee.
* Work with reporters, editors, talk show hosts and producers to translate KCUR content into compelling live experiences.
* Maintain events calendar, coordinate and support all external events across the organization.
* Recommend and assist with marketing plans for all events.
* Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual, community, and organizational partners through live events.
* Recruit potential volunteers, members, donors and guests through KCUR and Classical KC events.
* Participate in all assigned fund-raising and outreach activities, on air and off.
* May oversee the work of interns or student employees.

Shift
This position is a full-time, benefit eligible staff position.
This position involves supporting events that require working some evenings and the occasional weekend.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

* Three to five years' experience in large-scale events, preferably within public media.
* Previous experience with volunteer management, as well as proven management of large-scale, revenue-generating events.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Coordinator will promote the destination as a premier sports tourism, conference, trade show, and special events location booking large tournaments and sports tourism events. The execution of responsibilities will be accomplished by working closely with facility staff, regional and national event/tournament providers, and promoting the primary revenue streams through effective marketing and advertising efforts in conjunction with the Marketing Manager. The position will include training on selling sponsorships. They will be evaluated based on KPIs set by the SFM corporate marketing team, number of events booked, sponsorship sales or assistance, number of visitors or event attendees generated, new business development, new program expansion, and sales pace.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Create traffic-building promotions and stage major events, contests, and promotions.
Plan, promote, and execute special events.
Coordinate external PR efforts with media and partners.
Solicit new business through prospecting and cold calling; develop new program opportunities and expand offerings.
Create and distribute banquet and event promotional packages.
Execute the marketing plan and campaigns as directed by SFM corporate; contribute marketing/sales inputs to strategic plans and action plans.
Direct creative development (graphics, flyers, invitations, print ads, posters, email marketing, website content) and ensure brand consistency.
Manage day-to-day merchandising and on-site promotional presentation.
Support achievement of financial objectives by assisting with forecasting, annual budget inputs, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances to recommend corrective actions.
Develop and execute advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; create field sales action plans aligned with revenue goals.
Research and capitalize on market opportunities; improve product/offer marketability; coordinate with teams on new program development.
Maintain rapport with key accounts via periodic meetings to understand needs and identify new opportunities.
Track and report KPIs in partnership with SFM corporate; evaluate campaign performance and business tempo across events and sports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
General ability in graphic design and advertising; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite for page layout and brand-aligned marketing pieces; portfolio required.
Experience managing business accounts on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter).
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or advertising; or 5+ years' relevant experience.
Technologically savvy; proficient with cloud file and project management tools; advanced in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Skilled at identifying and creating opportunities/promotions to deliver revenue goals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours).

Job DescriptionKANSAS CITY EVENT MANAGER: JOB SUMMARYRenewal by Andersen of Greater Kansas City Event Manager role is responsible for all aspects of department management for Events, Retail and RSVP lead sources. Utilizing proven department processes, procedures and training you will establish this department for the market. The ultimate goal of this role is to generate qualified appointments with homeowners for design consultants in the most efficient manner all the while positively representing Renewal by Andersen in the Greater Kansas Citycommunity. You will be required to split your time between the office and travel to various area events, home shows and retail locations. The role of this Department Manager is to motivate and develop a team of brand promoters through performance analysis, on-site coaching, and in-office training. This position requires the ability to create team goals and action plans, analyze key performance data, develop team performance, and lead department growth as outlined below.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - THE ROLE• Interview, hire, train and manage a team of brand promoters• Manage team leaders to key performance metrics• Create weekly and monthly plans which include performance goals• Pull and analyze data from key performance reports in our customer relationship management tool• Conduct individual and group training sessions along with team leaders• Research new events and other business avenues to help department grow• Visit team members in the field• Motivate and coach brand promoters on specific methodologies and performance criteria• Lead or assist with new hire training classes• Drive department growth and profit• Set up and breakdown events and home shows, when necessary
WHAT YOU BRING - THE PERSON• Experience in sales, events or retail with experience in lead generation a plus• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to listen and lead• Flexibility and demonstrated ability to adapt well in a changing environment• Ability to work with a sense of urgency to complete responsibilities timely• Able to conduct research, work under tight deadlines, develop and organize information• Ability to find resolution, deliver difficult feedback and advise management

Dual Event Manger

The Event Manager is responsible for the seamless planning, coordination, and execution of meetings, social functions, and conventions at Cascade Hotel. You will partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Service teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. You'll recognize revenue-enhancement opportunities by up-selling and offering creative enhancements, and you'll help maintain a smooth turnover from Sales to Service and back to Sales as appropriate.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
1. Managing Event Logistics & Operations
Plan, coordinate and execute all event details-from BEO review and site inspections through final billing and post-event wrap-up.
Maintain accurate event documentation and adhere to all hotel policies, procedures and brand standards.
Collaborate with Sales and internal departments (Catering, A/V, Housekeeping, Engineering, F&B) to anticipate and resolve operational challenges.
Manage group room blocks, cut-off dates, attrition clauses, and meeting spaces for assigned groups.
Conduct daily banquet floor walkthroughs to ensure quality standards and client satisfaction.
Forecast event revenue (catering, A/V, room nights) and track against goals.
2. Delivering Exceptional Customer Service
Serve as primary on-site contact for clients throughout the event lifecycle; greet customers, lead pre- and post-event meetings, and solicit feedback.
Proactively address guest needs, troubleshoot issues, and suggest alternatives to ensure a flawless experience.
Empower and coach hourly and operational staff to meet service standards and exceed guest expectations.
Review final bills with clients, ensure billing accuracy, and process adjustments as needed.
3. Revenue Growth & Profitability
Recognize and create upsell opportunities-enhancements, themed décor, premium F&B offerings, A/V upgrades, etc.
Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors to secure competitive pricing and service agreements.
Assist in departmental expense management to achieve budgeted controllable targets.
4. Sales & Marketing Collaboration
Partner with Sales to support site visits, proposal development, and contract addendums for conventions and special events.
Provide accurate room night and revenue forecasts for pipeline groups and assist with weekly revenue meetings.
Generate creative ideas and packages to drive repeat business and upsell ancillary services.
5. Leadership & Team Development
Lead and facilitate formal pre- and post-event meetings for average to large-sized groups; communicate group needs and post-event feedback.
Mentor and train Convention Services and banquet staff on best practices, safety procedures, and hotel emergency protocols.
Conduct performance observations, review guest comment cards, and partner with HR to implement corrective action plans when necessary.
6. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Stay current on industry trends in event management, design, and technology; integrate new ideas to elevate the guest experience.
Solicit and analyze internal and external feedback to identify process improvements and streamline operations.
Collaborate with senior leadership on department initiatives to increase efficiency, enhance service levels, and grow event revenue.
Education & Experience
Minimum: High school diploma or GED and 2 years of event management, food & beverage, sales & marketing, or related experience.
Preferred: Associate's degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with 1-2 years' experience; or Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years' experience.
Senior Event Manager Track: Bachelor's degree plus 3-6 years' experience managing larger and more complex conventions and events. Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing complex group sales portfolios in full-service hotels.
Expertise with Marriott systems (CI/TY, LightSpeed, Power of M) and multi-property account management.

Allied Universal Event Services is looking to hire Event Security. This position is responsible for checking bags, enforcing access control and implementing policies and procedures for the safety of the guests and clients, while providing superior customer service for the best guest experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
Allow appropriate entry into each venue, may collect and/or scan tickets, verify wristbands and badges, direct traffic coming in and out of the venue.
Screen guests during entry via bag searching, hand wand or metal detector, and ID verification.
Protect guests, staff, and venue ownership group assets by watching for security breaches at vital checkpoints.
Respond quickly to potential crowd control issues and provide escorts for unruly guests when ejections are warranted.
Demonstrate an understanding of the policies, procedures and regulations of different venues, facilities and events.
Provide a positive experience for guests as they arrive at your facility entrance, aisle, concourse area or other location
Provide guests with helpful directions and/or suggestions that will enhance their entertainment experience.
