The Marketing Events Specialist will work as a core member of a small but mighty marketing team to coordinate and oversee the marketing, planning, and logistics of a variety of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events that support the continued growth and expansion of our business in the United States and Canada. The role requires taking the initiative to own and grow the events space while working closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams to determine which events are strategically critical, event message and goals, and strategize on how to best position Maptek at the event to maximize ROI. Execute events that generate new leads, create new sales opportunities, accelerate existing sales opportunities, and deepen existing customer relationships.
Develop SMART goals for conferences, user forums, roadshows, and internal events in collaboration with sales, technical, and marketing teams.
Lead pre-show and post-show meetings. Establish and maintain annual events calendars, budgets, and forecasts. Utilize existing internal event guidelines and tools while continuously auditing and improving them to streamline event planning and execution. Continuously research and report on new event opportunities; track and report on all mining and metals events happening in the US and Canada. Identify sponsorship programs and speaking opportunities where Maptek’s solutions will resonate with attendees. Assist with establishing individual budgets for new events, and focus on identifying opportunities for maximizing value and cost optimization. Manage all operational aspects of events. Responsibilities include but are not limited to booking venue, entertainment, activities, food and beverage, gifts, shipping, and more. Work closely with the trade show's main contacts on the speaker needs and agenda programming. Develop event messaging, online promotions, and target key personas, so basic writing proficiency and marketing knowledge is required. Create new and exciting client experiences that will differentiate us from the competition. With virtual events, you will be a power user of the virtual event software tools and educate team members on its use and functionality to ensure a strong and engaging online presence before, during, and after the event. Experience with live broadcasting tools like Vimeo is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Prefer 2+ years of experience managing virtual, hybrid, and in-person events, specifically targeting enterprise B2B accounts at trade shows and other industry events. Software industry experience is a plus. Experience in managing event sponsorship contracts and fulfilment of deliverables, including booth selection, lead retrieval, bag drops, advertisements, etc. Knowledge in developing event-specific landing pages and promotional materials is highly preferred. Proactive self-starter, comfortable taking general guidance and turning it into clear deliverables and business impact in a fast-paced, complex technical environment. Ability to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment and mobilize cross-functional high-performance teams. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Ability to see the bigger picture but also handle the day-to-day details. Proficiency with G Suite and MS Office products. Excellent strategic and critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate with clients confidently and professionally, ensuring client relationships are nurtured and maintained. Ability to deal with multiple, competing demands and prioritize appropriately. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work in a safe and professional manner at all times. Willingness to respond to and courteously accept unexpected requests. Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed. Experience with Pardot and Salesforce is preferred.
Summary of compensation and benefits:

Essential Job Functions:
The Marketing Specialist, Internal Communication & Events is primarily responsible for internal communication activities in multiple platforms, for the US market. This position would also be supporting Event activities for DMG MORI USA, including setup of events in the event platform, and implementing relevant information to the Sales team.
