The Special Events internship will cover all aspects of hosting revenue generating special events at TQL Stadium on non match days. The position will help aid the special event team in creation of new sales concepts & marketing materials, event planning & event logistics and on site event management during the event. This 14 week position will work an average of 15 hours a week plus 2-3 home matches as special event schedule dictates. There may be weekend, evenings, and holiday hours. This approximate internship duration is January - May 2026 (Spring Semester). This is a paid internship and college credit is available.
What You'll Do:
Event Sales:
Work with the sales team on client tours and visits
Learn the art of event sales marketing and contracting
Learn to create menus, floor plans and banquet event orders that fit client's needs
Forecast upcoming events and coordinate with respective managers on coverage/details
Work with Director of Special Event Sales on season long event marketing project for new event revenue project
Event Management: Assist with coordination of TQL Stadium special events to include:
Attend client final walk thru of event space
Assist Event Manager in any client set up prior to event day
Coordinate with third party vendors on delivery and set up details
Ensure all areas involved in event space are ready and set prior to client arrival
Work with Event Manager during event

The Mayor's Youth Leadership Council is a youth, civic leadership initiative designed to educate students about their government, community organizations and service-led projects. Volunteer Position Department: Varies by candidate preference/skills Reports to: Department Director Schedule: Varies by candidate availability/need This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Promotes and supports the facility policies and ensures all members and guests have a pleasant and safe experience. Fosters a sense of friendship, achievement, and belonging among participants, members, and guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports program operations: Assists staff with the setup. delivery, and cleanup of programs, activities, or events. Helps maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for participants and guests.
Provides excellent service: Greets and interacts positively with members, participants, and visitors. Responds to questions or direct individuals to appropriate staff or resources.
Promotes safety and compliance: Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies. Reports any accidents, unsafe conditions, or concerns to a supervisor immediately.
Represents the organization positively: Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and inclusivity in all interactions. Models the YMCAs values and mission through words and actions.
Supports team efforts: Collaborates effectively with staff and other volunteers. Takes direction from supervisors and completes assigned tasks efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Friendly, dependable, and courteous in interactions with others.
Accepts and demonstrates the YMCAs values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Communicates effectively with staff, participants, and fellow volunteers.
Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
Completes Child Abuse Prevention training upon hire and annually.

We are seeking a General Volunteer to join our team in Xenia, OH. As a volunteer, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks and projects as needed. Your duties may include:
Assisting with event planning and coordination
Providing support to staff members and clients
Assist with transporting clients (requires MVR check)
Assisting with fundraising efforts
Performing administrative tasks such as data entry and filing
Assisting with outreach and community engagement efforts

Free Comprehensive Online training (10 Hours, at your own pace) is personally enriching, focusing on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy. The training is a great resume add. For those that complete the training and honor their commitment, we offer a letter of recommendation!
Those with recent family passings are advised to wait for a year before volunteering.
