This position handles issues such as, but not limited to, recruiting, new hire orientation, benefits administration, payroll and maintains files. This position reports to the Executive Director and may be required to supervise other staff positions.
Job Description
Pay range: $80,000-$90,000 per year
*Pay range is flexible with consideration of experience and HR expertise*
Maintain personnel files.
Conduct new hire orientation and administer benefits.
Assist in answering employee questions or concerns.
Ensure that payroll is accurately prepared and reported to the corporate office at the designated time.
Process/file workers compensation claims.
Respect and maintain confidentiality of the office, the records, and restricted information.
Understand roll in the safety and disaster plan.
Recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
Oversee performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Approve and monitor employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
Suggest and implement training opportunities.
Participate in the Manager On-Duty program.
Attend various community events.
Qualifications
Level of Formal Education: An Associate's Degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Area of Study: Human Resources, Psychology or Business preferred
Years of Experience: 2+ years

The Resident Companion's primary responsibilities include:
Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's):
Dressing/undressing: ensures that clothes are clean, appropriate in season, and presentable.
Bathing: provides assistance with personal hygiene (i.e. shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, etc.).
Mobility: uses various devices that enable resident to ambulate independently (i.e. cane, walker, wheelchair, crutch, etc.).
Dining: meal time reminders, sets up and cleans tables as needed, transports food from buffet to table, waits tables as needed, room service as needed.
Toileting: assists in transfer and dressing, assists in applying incontinence devices.
Laundry services: delivers and picks up bed/bath linen; personal laundry possible. Will come in contact with a variety of laundry chemicals
Health maintenance/monitoring: observes and reports physical/mental changes to Manager or designated nursing staff; conducts room checks and resident rounds; monitors for safety hazards; reports resident related incidents/accidents.
Activity Program: encourages and reminds resident of scheduled programs. Assists with activities as needed.
Emergency Preparedness: responds to and acts appropriately in emergency/disaster situations or drills. Attends mandatory inservices as directed plus enough additional inservices to meet requirements for CNA.

Provides oral instructions to nursing assistants.
Assesses residents and records all pertinent information in resident's records.
Document administration of medications according to facility policies and procedures.
Functions as team leader and supervisor.
Supplies and interprets information, supports decisions, and facilitates communications with residents and their families, and nursing assistants and support staff.
Assures that resident's call lights are answered.
Receives and records oral telephone medication and treatment orders from physicians/physician's offices.
Reports changes in resident's health status to physician, resident, and/or responsible party.
Performs daily tasks in accordance with infection control and standard precaution policies and procedures.
Follows policies and procedures related to body mechanics and lift systems.
Assures residents individual care plans are being followed by reviewing nursing assistant assignment sheets.
Assures nursing assistant are completing their required documentation before shift ending including service check off lists, Restorative Care and Intake and Output records.
Assures rounds are being done with shift to shift change to prevent conflict
What do I need for this role?
Current and Valid LPN License in Ohio required.
Current and Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire required.
Strong leadership skills and/or previous experience are preferred.
Strong Customer Service skills required.
Onsite presence required.

Complete work orders around the community.
Perform work and repairs needed to ready apartments prior to move-in's.
Order and organize maintenance supplies as needed.
Complete general maintenance projects, including installations and repairs involving plumbing, electrical equipment, carpentry, painting, equipment repair, snow removal, and landscaping.
Respond promptly to emergencies and after hours calls.
Maintain knowledge of all property emergency, safety, and disaster plans/procedures.
Maintain office, shop, and storage and ensure that mechanical areas of the community are in accordance with SLC policies.
Drive residents to stores or on special trips as needed.
Qualifications
No experience is necessary, although general mechanical and/or electrical knowledge is preferred.
You currently have a valid Driver's license.
You pride yourself on clear and positive communication to everybody that you encounter.
You are self-assured and possess a can-do attitude.
You excel at independent work and feel a sense of accomplishment after you have fixed something or have completed a project.
