Position Summary BCForward is seeking a Dental Assistant 1 to support the Periodontal Department at a leading School of Dental Medicine. Under general supervision, you will assist faculty and residents with clinical and surgical procedures while ensuring proper handling of instruments, equipment, and patient needs. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about supporting dental education environments. Key Responsibilities Essential Functions Prepare and supply sterilized instruments and equipment to residents. (25%) Provide chair-side assistance to faculty, residents, and hygienists. (15%) Dispense dental supplies and equipment to support efficient treatment. (15%) Monitor inventory and prepare requisitions for supplies. (6%) Prepare clinic for daily operations: clean cubicles, stock supplies, refresh sterile water. (10%) Nonessential Functions Verify patient payments for procedures and specialty items. (5%) Track and follow up on insurance pre-treatment estimates. (5%) Inspect equipment functionality and coordinate repairs. (5%) Review patient records for accuracy; report deficiencies.
