Field Automation Technicians and Specialists provide technical service to install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain remote terminal units for system control and data acquisition managing the Distribution Electric Grid devices as green energy resources are integrated.
This is an entry level position. Individual works independently or as a member of a team - with non-union employees, contractors or vendors - on technical assignments associated with the installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, or repair of hardware and data base records associated with a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA). The SCADA System includes, but is not limited to, the following equipment types: Remote Terminal Units (RTUs); data concentrators; Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs); various wired and wireless communication systems; centralized servers; computer and browser-based applications; digital multi-meters and analog transducers; peripheral hardware and sensors; and various electronic system, components and devices. Programs and troubleshoots machine language, firmware, software, and protocols used to interface to or communicate with all the equipment listed above.
As required, individual will create and update configuration and drawing files used by the SCADA system pertaining to circuit breakers, reclosers, line sensors, fault locators, smart switches, feeder metering, alarm dialers, and other Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs). Individual is also responsible for compliance and maintenance of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) systems and must maintain annual CIP certification. Must be available for on-call and storm assignments.

Essential Functions:
Troubleshoots, repairs, services equipment and systems associated with electrical and electronic equipment.
Reads and interprets engineering drawings, schematic, wiring, logic, and interconnection diagrams may also include manufacture documentation.
Provides input to reports, drawings, sketches, logs, and records of work performed; makes corrections to engineering drawings to reflect field changes
Obtains clearance, if required, from appropriate dispatching agency in order to perform work on critical operating equipment or electronic systems.
Operates a variety of electrical and electronic instruments to test and calibrate, such as voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, transmission test sets, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, communications service monitors, multi-meters, etc.
Identifies and analyzes communications problems/failures on systems including leased telephone facilities or internal communication circuits; reports and explains details of problems to the carrier or inter personnel; returns equipment to service following repair

Associate's Degree in electrical engineering; electrical technology or equivalent and 0 to 3+ years related experience required.
Licenses & Certifications:
Critical Infrastructure Protection certification must be maintained annually; must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Prepares requests-for-proposals (RFPs) and reviews proposals from contractors and consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain refrigeration and HVAC for a group of retail locations.
Repair equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers' expectations.
Establish effective regular communication with Site Management to ensure they are kept informed of all ongoing maintenance activities .
Liaise with Site Management team to ensure that all planned maintenance activities are communicated effectively including diagnosing equipment malfunctions and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance.
Provide all required job updates on a timely basis.
Be proactive in refrigerant leak checking and repairs.
Maintain all assets for which you have responsibility to the highest standards.
Perform refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks in a timely manner as assigned.
Monitor and log refrigerant usage within assigned stores.
Maintain clean and safe conditions in machine and electrical rooms.
Communicate as needed with retail store location personnel to maintain refrigerated product integrity.
Participate in company's “on call” after hours emergency call program.
Assist with trouble shooting problems.
Complete equipment inventories as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Possesses a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with rack systems, displays cases and walk-ins highly preferred.
Journeyman qualified in refrigeration and HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience.
EPA certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal.
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
In-depth working knowledge of supermarket rack refrigeration equipment, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems preferred.
Demonstrated basic computer skills, Refrigeration Controller Technology, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Demonstrated self-motivation and successful experience in previous jobs and responsibilities.
Above average troubleshooting and guest service skills.
Ability to multitask, work with limited supervision and make sound decisions quickly.

Our **Field Engineering** team is looking for an intern to join their team\! This intern will have exposure to troubleshooting, maintaining and commissioning protection and control schemes and electrical power apparatus associated with the Bulk Electric System and Distribution System\.
Our Field Engineering intern will assist the department in tasks such as:
+ Calibration and repair of Test Equipment such as power system simulators used to maintain relay systems required for regulatory compliance;
+ Reviewing Test Equipment inventory and managing repairs with original equipment manufacturers\.
+ Work with supervision to ensure job aids, engineering documentation, material, and test equipment is available for task execution\.
+ Shadow Field Engineers and Supervisors in the field conducting relay maintenance, troubleshooting, and construction commissioning activities in the substations\.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
+ Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering technology
+ Individual must hold a valid motor vehicle license
+ Must be available to start May 27th for a minimum of 10\-12 weeks
