We are seeking an Associate SCADA Engineer to join our team supporting real-time electric grid operations on the GE SCADA platform. This role focuses on database and display development, project implementation, and close collaboration with field communications teams to ensure system reliability, accuracy, and performance.
The ideal candidate will bring technical knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for solving complex challenges in a dynamic utility environment.
Essential Functions:
Design, build, and maintain SCADA databases using GE FGBuilder and related tools.
Develop and maintain intuitive, real-time operator displays in alignment with system changes and project needs.
Perform regular SCADA database failovers and synchronization, ensuring high system availability and data integrity.
Lead or support implementation of major SCADA-related initiatives, such as,
- Voltage-Var Optimization (VVO)
- 900MHz to 220/450MHz telemetry conversions
- New substation or RTU integrations
Collaborate with field communications teams to validate, test, and troubleshoot telemetry paths, protocols, and performance issues.
Maintain high accuracy in point mapping, alarming, and device configuration across both transmission and distribution assets.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional project teams.
Support real-time operations by troubleshooting SCADA issues and participating in storm duties, as needed.
Work closely with and liaise with our IT Real Time Systems (IT/RTS) partners
Mentor junior engineers and represent SCADA in cross-functional project teams.
Ensure data integrity, accurate alarming, and reliable point-to-point control across a growing system footprint.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Proficiency in FGBuilder, point modeling, RTU/IED configuration, and telemetry protocols (DNP3, Modbus, etc.).
Strong understanding of electric utility systems, including substation layouts, RTUs, telemetry paths, and control center operations.
Experience coordinating with field and communication teams to test and validate device data.
Familiarity with or the ability to contribute quickly with radio network transitions (e.g., 900MHz to 220/450MHz).
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Knowledge in Pi Process and the construction of the Pi database.
Preferred Skills:
Experience implementing SCADA for distribution automation, VVO, DMS or other distribution automation programs.
Understanding of distribution telemetry challenges, including timing, latency, and communication redundancy. Proficiency in Wireshark a plus.
Familiarity with NERC/CIP awareness and operational considerations for utility SCADA systems.
Scripting or automation capabilities (e.g., Python, SQL, or SCADA automation tools).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field .
Experience:
Minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of SCADA engineering experience, preferably with GE Grid Solutions software.
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Join the power movement as a Contract Electrical Technician
Electrical Technician in the Power Electronics team at CFS will work under the direction of the Lead Electrical Test Technician. Responsibilities include receipt, installation, configuration, testing, validation, and commissioning support of prototype and production level power electronics-based converter systems and DC battery storage systems at a large scale for SPARC to produce fusion power.
Responsible for tactical implementation of tasks within the power electronics team and also support cross functional teams with technical and tactical needs. Aid in the development, assembly, and operation of new test platforms and will report test results and data to the design responsible engineers.
This role is on-site at Devens, MA for system installation & commissioning and at Somerville, MA for advanced development prototype testing.

Individual contributor in electrical sub-system and system level testing and validation, knowledge in controls and programming is a plus
Ability to understand electrical schematics, general layout drawings, simulation results, specifications and engineering reports

Proactively procure or build all tools, fixtures, or manipulation equipment required for the upcoming tests per schedule

**Position Purpose:**
Provides day-to-day monitoring and basic plant and pump/booster station operations, routine lab tests and basic corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Operates equipment manually and through instrumentation panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units following process control procedures. Performs field tests (chemical, physical and biological) in order to pace chemical dosages for process and odor control units. Prepares chemical solutions, monitors supplies and recommends reorder.
+ Performs routine lab tests and prepares reports per procedure.
+ Performs routine instrument calibration for portable meters including, but not limited to, dissolved oxygen, pH, H2S, percent oxygen, lower explosive limit.
+ Learns to inspect and becomes proficient at mechanical troubleshooting to determine repairs needed. Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices. Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating condition is restored. Learns to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment and instrumentation.

To repair refrigeration and HVAC mechanical and electrical systems throughout retail locations to support operations and minimize product loss, while ensuring partner satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain refrigeration and HVAC for a group of retail locations.
Repair equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers' expectations.
Establish effective regular communication with Site Management to ensure they are kept informed of all ongoing maintenance activities .
Liaise with Site Management team to ensure that all planned maintenance activities are communicated effectively including diagnosing equipment malfunctions and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance.
Provide all required job updates on a timely basis.
Be proactive in refrigerant leak checking and repairs.
Maintain all assets for which you have responsibility to the highest standards.
Perform refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks in a timely manner as assigned.
Monitor and log refrigerant usage within assigned stores.
Maintain clean and safe conditions in machine and electrical rooms.
Communicate as needed with retail store location personnel to maintain refrigerated product integrity.
Participate in company's “on call” after hours emergency call program.
Assist with trouble shooting problems.
Complete equipment inventories as assigned.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Act in accordance with all company policies & procedures.
Additional Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
Possesses a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with rack systems, displays cases and walk-ins highly preferred.
Journeyman qualified in refrigeration and HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience.
EPA certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal.
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
In-depth working knowledge of supermarket rack refrigeration equipment, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems preferred.
Demonstrated basic computer skills, Refrigeration Controller Technology, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Demonstrated self-motivation and successful experience in previous jobs and responsibilities.
Above average troubleshooting and guest service skills.
Ability to multitask, work with limited supervision and make sound decisions quickly.
Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
High standard of integrity and reliability.
