Essential Functions: Analyzes trouble calls (events) and initiates corrective action with the appropriate Area Work Center function including call-out of personnel in accordance with established procedures; Handles corrective action as required by timing or circumstances, and informs appropriate System Personnel of problems on the assigned region's electric distribution system and associated restoration progress; Monitors load and voltages on circuits and substation equipment during switching and peak periods to assure loading parameters are not exceeded; Assists with implementing the assigned region's emergency response plan as required, and assists at Area Work Center satellites and other regional operation centers during emergency storm restoration as assigned; Maintains the electric model in the outage management system to reflect real-time system status; Individual must be able to quickly recognize emergency situations and take prompt, appropriate actions with limited or no supervision. Individual will also be required to efficiently coordinate emergency actions with other vested parties such as Federal, State, and Municipal partners along with other utilities. Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications: Technical Knowledge/Skill: Requires a working knowledge of all transmission and distribution network equipment and vehicles, work practices and procedures, construction and material standards, as well as safety, regulatory and design codes. Requires a demonstrated knowledge in training and development concepts, theories, practices and principals using a Systematic Approach to Training. Education: Associates degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience. Combined education and experience can be used as a substitute. Experience : Zero (0) to five (5) years of related electrical utility experience is required. Individual must be able to function under stressful emergency situations for extended periods of time; Thorough knowledge of the switching and tagging procedures; a thorough knowledge of Electric Distribution System operations; Thorough knowledge of applicable PC-based and mainframe applications; Ability to communicate and work effectively with various levels of the organization and others involved with Electric Operations; Ability to analyze electric distribution system problems and act accordingly Licenses & Certifications: Must successfully pass all required pre-employment assessments. Our customers (property management companies) depend on us to take care of their utility management and billing for their various properties. The big picture: What our meter technicians do Our Meter Technicians install, maintain, and repair Conservice submeters, allowing our billing team to accurately track and bill utility usage by the unit or individual apartment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Install, program, and configure submeters and related communication systems in multifamily homes, apartment complexes, and retail areas. Perform routine maintenance and inspection of submeters to ensure accurate measurement and proper functioning. Ensure communications systems are functioning properly and perform routine maintenance as needed. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to submeter performance, connectivity, or data transmission. Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty or malfunctioning submeters as needed. Calibrate and test submeters to ensure accurate and reliable measurement of water consumption. Regularly climb ladders and work at heights to access water submeters in ceilings or other elevated locations. Lift and move equipment and materials weighing 50+ pounds during installation and maintenance tasks. Collaborate with property owners, managers, and retail store staff to address questions, concerns, or complaints related to water submetering. Educate property staff, residents, and retail employees on the operation and functionality of water submeters. Monitor and analyze consumption data to detect anomalies, leaks, or abnormal usage patterns. Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities as well as make required updates to communication systems. Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in submetering technology. Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures while working with water submeters. Must hold a current, valid driver's license and have a clean driving record Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8 hour shifts Saturdays may be required as needed, based on the workload. Role and Scope of Position: This position plans, coordinates, reviews switching and tagging; writing, checking, and issuing clearances; monitoring of loads, emergency restoration and associated reporting for the electric distribution system within an assigned region. Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications: Technical Knowledge/Skill: * Requires a working knowledge of all transmission and distribution network equipment and vehicles, work practices and procedures, construction and material standards, as well as safety, regulatory and design codes. * Requires a demonstrated knowledge in training and development concepts, theories, practices and principals using a Systematic Approach to Training. Education: * Associates degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience. Combined education and experience can be used as a substitute. Experience: * Zero (0) to five (5) years of related electrical utility experience is required. * Individual must be able to function under stressful emergency situations for extended periods of time; * Thorough knowledge of the switching and tagging procedures; a thorough knowledge of Electric Distribution System operations; * Thorough knowledge of applicable PC-based and mainframe applications; * Ability to communicate and work effectively with various levels of the organization and others involved with Electric Operations; * Ability to analyze electric distribution system problems and act accordingly Licenses & Certifications: * Must successfully pass all required pre-employment assessments.
