The Litigation Paralegal is responsible for supporting their assigned attorney by investigating and researching case facts, preparing legal documents, and maintaining accurate and timely case management.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain, review, and organize medical records and documentation
Investigate insurance coverage as needed
Prepare and maintain detailed damage summaries, including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage
Log incoming daily mail and maintain organized case files
Draft and send correspondence to clients, insurance carriers, and medical providers
Prepare and forward medical records to insurance companies
Verify balances and assist in resolving subrogation liens
Process check requests, maintain accurate records, and handle check distribution
Support attorneys with settlement documentation and prepare disbursement summaries
Communication & Collaboration:
Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status and updates
Prepare weekly reports and participate in monthly team meetings
Provide backup support to other team members during absences
Meet or exceed performance goals and maintain regular, punctual attendance

Required Skills:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Case management from inception through trial.
Monitor court docket and track internal and external deadlines.
Draft and review pleadings and motions.
Assist with all aspects of discovery, including preparing disclosures, discovery requests and responses, proposed case management orders, document productions, subpoenas, etc.
Review document productions, including bates label and indexing.
Trial preparation, including working with other members of the trial team and vendors to create exhibits, demonstratives, checklists, and more.
Attending trial as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal working in large-scale litigation.
Commercial litigation and/or construction defect experience is a big plus.
Strong knowledge of Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure (CRCP) and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP).
Excellent computer skills and experience with eDiscovery databases (Relativity, Eclipse, etc.)
