Troubleshoots and analyzes control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems. Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to small teams. Performs more advanced functions as a part of training and development. Completes on-the-job and technical self-study programs for career development. Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Associates degree with a Technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry; or 5 years of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program. Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze problems and perform repairs. Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate May be required to travel. Job Summary: The Utility Technician is an entry level role. They will work closely with experienced shop and field techs and assist them as needed. They may be asked to perform repairs based on their skill set. PURPOSE The primary purpose of the position is to provide direct on-site emergency service, preventive maintenance and installation support to end user customers while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The position is also responsible for assisting in reaching Service Zone Revenue targets with work group sales responsibilities ranging from 1 to 2 MM dollars and to communicate product sales opportunities to Sales and Applications team's members as needed. Willingness to acquire and use sales skills is a must. Difficulties include extensive travel (50,000 to 75,000 driving miles per year), working with contaminated products, exposure to X-rays and Magnetic fields, sick patients and the need to lift heavy equipment (over 50lbs). Typical work week approaches 50 hrs and on-call duty as needed by Zone Service manager. This role will work primarily 2nd shift across the New York Metro area. Work Schedule 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday Essential Duties and Responsibilities Use of proper processes, procedures and OMS instructions, cycle counting procedures Proper safety procedures Daily participation and demonstrated 5-S practices Daily/Weekly/Monthly preventative maintenance duties on machines & equipment Continually open to learning and acquiring new skills by progressing through the skills matrix Specialize in either assembly or fabrication Perform regular production or assembly duties as required within the respective cell or department. Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities A team player with excellent communication skills. Strong mechanical aptitude and solid blueprint reading skills. Ability to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems. Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands. Strong attention to detail. Required Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent. 2 + years of experience in a Manufacturing Environment is preferred. Certification for sit-down forklift, Raymond and use of overhead crane or the willingness to obtain via training. Ability to safely lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
