Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's (or currently enrolled) in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related life sciences or health-science discipline; minimum GPA of 3.0.
Strong foundational knowledge of biochemistry and biology, with a solid understanding of human anatomy and chemistry relevant to laboratory research.
Demonstrated strong hands-on laboratory skills, with extensive practical experience in biochemistry-focused laboratory environments.
Proven proficiency in core wet-lab techniques, including precise pipetting, sample preparation, reagent handling, and execution of biochemical assays (e.g., protein quantification, enzymatic assays, ELISA or similar analytical assays).
Ability to accurately collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, with strong attention to detail and adherence to laboratory protocols.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing, data reporting, and documentation of experimental results.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills, with the ability to support experimental planning and execution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project is preferred.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain predetermined productivity of individual and group interventions.
Consult with patients and co-manage the treatment of mental disorders and psychosocial issues.
Responsible for initial patient contact, coordinating referrals, assessments and developing treatment plans.
Interview patients, give diagnostic tests, review records, conduct assessments, and confer with other professionals to diagnose disorders and identify and evaluate psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues.
Develop and implement behavior modification programs and/or treatment and intervention programs that patients can understand and comply with.
Monitor, evaluate, and record patient progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan. Modify treatment plans to comply with changes in patients' status.
Provide therapy and consultation to patients in individual and group sessions to assist them in dealing with substance abuse, mental and physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse.
Collaborate with Providers, Case Managers and the Nursing team to plan and coordinate treatment, drawing on social work experience and patient needs.
Educate patients and community members about mental and physical illness, abuse, medication, and available community resources.
Maintain accurate records of treatment in the patient Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and follow up with patients in order to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling or treatments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- Passion for strength and conditioning and a desire to work with both athletes and adults.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a plus.- Ability to commit 20-40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.- Basic knowledge of exercise physiology and strength training principles.- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced coaches and supervisors.- Current CPR/AED certification is preferred.

Under the direction of the Wellness Director/Coordinator and consistent with the mission of the YMCA of the Suncoast, the Wellness Trainee will work towards meeting all requirements of the Wellness Floor Coach position within 60 days from hire date. During that time, if scheduled to work in the wellness center they will meet and greet members, and assist members by referring them to the appropriate staff members for specific training needs. Educate and enforce operational guidelines and regulations with all members. Maintain all weight training equipment and keep facilities organized and clean. Provide knowledge and concern for the members' well being at all times.
EDUCATION, TRAINNG AND EXPERIENCE:
