Administer inhalants, operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators. Evaluate effects of the respiratory therapy treatment plan. Maintain up to date knowledge on care relating to respiratory treatment. Perform other duties as assigned. Including but not limited to: assisting with transfers, cleaning rooms between patients, answering phones, answering call lights, etc. Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment. The Emergency Room Tech provides technical support for physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center. The purpose of this position is to assist and support the nursing and medical staff of the Emergency Department, to perform patient care, and environmental tasks, and manage supplies and equipment to ensure the patient-focused, cost-effective operation of the department. The Emergency Room Tech will also be responsible for assisting the RN with performing education and observing chemical tests on patients' or control specimens by clinical staff using the lab and correctly records appropriate results and uses and maintains all laboratory equipment correctly.
