POSITION OVERVIEW
As an executive coach and facilitator, you will support the Partnership's leadership development programs. These include open enrollment leadership development programs, custom agency initiatives, and/or executive coaching for federal leaders, teams and groups.
Our executive coaches and facilitators have extensive experience designing and facilitating programs for diverse audiences and deliver inclusive programming across a variety of settings and modalities. Our programs incorporate real-life, timely examples to support on-the-job lesson application. We support leaders as they experiment with different tools and seek new ways of leading others; we foster an environment that builds lasting relationships; and we adapt to participant feedback to ensure content and coaching is in service to the individual. As a coach and facilitator, you will bring your authentic self to the classroom/coaching engagement and create a space for others to do the same.
Your experience in leadership development and coaching will be critical for the success of the Partnership's leadership development programs and initiatives, and the impact we seek in developing public service leaders of integrity with a passionate commitment to the public good.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Design and facilitate high-quality, high-impact leadership development training and coaching programs for federal employees.
+ Collaborate with Partnership staff to creatively design interactive session content. Depending on program and scope of work, this may include:
+ Creating entirely new leadership programming.
+ Customizing existing course materials based on audience or agency-specific needs.
+ Modifying content to include relevant resources, best practices and real-life examples.
+ Delivering predesigned leadership training programs.
+ Facilitate in a variety of settings-including in-person, virtual and hybrid-using a variety of modalities to engage participants.
+ Create an inclusive learning environment for all program participants, ensuring all program materials are 508 compliant and adjusting design and delivery approach to accommodate participant needs.
+ Provide one-on-one executive coaching , group coaching and/or team coaching f or federal leaders, ranging from emerging leaders to senior executives.
+ Analyze leadership assessment results (e.g., 360 and/or other leadership assessment results), debrief clients on their feedback and coach clients for development.
+ Share leadership resources, tools and best practices with program participants.
+ Keep apprised of the latest knowledge and skills in leadership development and share these best practices with the Partnership coaching team.
+ Maintain awareness of the management culture in government and familiarity with the challenges facing federal employees; may also require building knowledge of agency-specific challenges.
+ Build trust and work collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including internal Partnership staff, program participants, agency leaders and other executive coaches.
+ Represent the Partnership to external audiences and will serve as a nonpartisan advocate for strong federal government leadership.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree or relevant professional work experience, including military experience, required. 12-15 years of experience in organizational and leadership development, executive coaching and facilitation, human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, or a related field.
+ Master's degree, coaching certification and ICF coaching credentials preferred.
+ Familiarity with and/or certifications in leadership assessments such as MHS EQi-360, TKI, DiSC and MBTI.
+ Previous federal work experience, especially at the executive level, and/or past experience coaching federal leaders preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment in Washington, DC and at external venues, both local and out-of-state. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer and scanner. Please note that as a result of COVID-19, Partnership staff are currently working remotely. We will provide additional information regarding specific program delivery and Partnership policies, and they will be in accordance with all federal, state local policies and procedures.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The need for external coaches/facilitators varies throughout the year. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Program dates, number of hours, coaching rates, and other logistics will be determined on a project-by-project basis.
The coach/facilitator is a contract-based position with varied work hours during Monday-Friday, typically between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional early morning, evening or weekend activities may be requested. Each program or project will have an estimated number of hours included, and session date(s)/time(s) to which you must adhere.
TRAVEL
If travel occurs, it is usually during the business day. Some out of the area and/or overnight travel may be required as well.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a fixed price contract position. This position shall not be entitled to insurance or retirement benefits provided by the Partnership generally to its employees. The position shall be solely responsible for any federal and state income or payroll taxes (including any penalties and interest) that are due for any payments made to her/him/they by the Partnership under this Agreement. Additionally, the Partnership assumes no responsibility for the payment of statutory or other fees pursuant to Social Security, workers' compensation, state disability and unemployment insurance funds or any other employment related insurance. Consultant shall be responsible for determining the amounts of and making all such payments.
