*Job Overview*

The *Executive Secretary *provides high level administrative support for the *Legal Department*. This role will act as a liaison with other department staff, UAW staff and affiliates and report into *General Counsel*.

*Job Description*

* Frequently monitor incoming requests for legal assistance, and coordinate with staff in responding, including the preparation correspondence to inside and outside counsel regarding new matters.
* Enter, update, and manage data and documents maintained in the department's electronic case management system.
* Provide high level administrative support for a department with strict confidentiality
* Act as a liaison with other department staff, UAW staff and affiliates
* Know, interpret, and apply organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
* Develop, coordinate, and assess office systems and operations, including but not limited to, recordkeeping, expense reporting, internal and external communications, meetings, travel and expenses and other areas as assigned
* Review and process incoming correspondence and materials, as well as prepare responses as appropriate
* Proofreading, reformatting, and editing of correspondence and policy statements
* Coordinate office support staff and workflow including resolution of questions and concerns as well as development of ongoing departmental policies and procedures
* Retrieve information quickly, utilizing internal and external data resources
* Understand, and be able to communicate, the function of the UAW and both the internal and external labor movement
* Review, input and reconcile Purchase Card transactions
* Travel may be required, up to 10% (i.e. to attend meetings)
