This is a is a non-driving, observational role. The core responsibility is to meticulously observe, categorize, and log day-to-day real-world scenarios encountered while riding as a passenger in a company vehicle. This role specifically focuses on documenting external situations, environmental conditions, infrastructure elements, and traffic events in their surroundings. Responsibilities: Observe and document external day-to-day conditions such as weather, road closures, construction zones, pedestrian activity, temporary signage, and unusual traffic obstacles. Utilize logging equipment (laptop or tablet) to accurately and immediately input data points corresponding to observed situations, locations, and timestamps. Maintain detailed logs and submit comprehensive daily reports of all collected data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Ensure data collection laptop or tablet are functional and report any technical issues promptly to the appropriate technical support team. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain professionalism and alertness throughout shifts, which involve 8 hour periods as a passenger. Qualifications: Exceptional observational skills and the ability to notice nuanced details in a dynamic environment. Ability in recording accurate information without bias. Competency in using laptops/tablets, with experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to maintain concentration and alertness during extended observation periods (sitting for several hours at a time). Clear written communication skills for accurate data entry and reporting. Ability to travel for extended periods (up to 2-3 weeks). Ability to work first shift (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM) or second shift (4:30 PM to 1:00 AM).     Job Description Observes students with developmental disabilities riding on the bus to assure the health and safety of all passengers. This includes the loading and unloading of mobile and immobile students, including those who are wheelchair assisted. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Observes students' behavior and environmental situations on the bus to detect adverse conditions which could threaten health and safety; Assists in the loading and unloading of buses and the securing of students in their seats and wheelchairs; Assists the driver in route directions and locating addresses; Assists in maintaining accurate passenger records; Complies with all safety rules as established by the Ohio Department of Education, and Board Transportation Policies and Procedures; Completes documentation of all incidents and accidents as they occur; Attends all Agency In-Services and other training programs, as assigned; Reports any concerns to the driver; Displays knowledge of the proper use of securing devices for safety vest, wheelchairs, car seats and seatbelts.
