Provide forensic nursing care in a trauma informed manner. Responsible for collaborating with the medical team and ensuring a Medical Screening Exam has or will be completed. Provides medical care simultaneously, while providing the associated forensic needs of the patient specific to each patient population. Provides medical forensic evaluation options of care specific to the patient population seen to include gathering the history of the violence and performing a comprehensive physical assessment. If evidence collection is completed as part of the medical forensic evaluation, the nurse examiner will adhere and apply forensic nursing care in conformity with the State of New Hampshire Acute Care of the Sexual Assault Patient standards. Collaborate and facilitate advocacy services to appropriate patient populations. Responsibilities
* 1. Orientation and Onboarding
* Coordinates and implements unit based orientation programs for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, LNAs, patient care assistants, and others) new to DHMC or transferring to assigned unit
* Delivers training and ensures new staff competency regarding organizational systems, including, but not limited to, point of care testing, medication dispensing systems, electronic health record
* Assigns preceptors in collaboration with unit leadership
* 2. Competency Management
* Manages competencies for nursing staff on assigned unit
* Collaborates with unit leadership to identify appropriate competencies and ensure program is carried out in a timely and coordinated fashion
* Participates in the development of and implements staff competencies based on needs assessments, regulatory requirements, policy/procedure changes, new equipment and quality metrics
* 3. Education
* Conducts and participates in practice gap analysis and learning needs assessments
* Participates in the development of, implements and evaluates education programs related orientation, competency and continuing nursing education

* Integrates technology into educational programming

Qualifications
* Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required OR
* Non-nursing bachelor's degree AND Associate's Degree in Nursing with commensurate experience and matriculation into a Master's in Nursing program required
* 3 years of clinical experience in identified specialty.
* Excellent informatics, verbal and written communications skills desired
* Nursing Professional Development-Board Certified preferred within 1 year
Required Licensure/Certifications
* Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
