Exotic Metals Forming company history timeline

1966

Since our founding in 1966, Exotic has cultivated a culture of entrepreneurship where employees are inspired to be the best that they can be and are rewarded with a share in the company's success.

In 1966, Exotic Metals Forming Company LLC hit a major milestone by becoming incorporated.

1972

The first military endeavor came in 1972 with the Teledyne Harpoon parts.

But in 1972, all but a few employees were laid off and throughout Seattle, signs appeared that read “Will the Last One to Leave Seattle Please Turn Off the Lights.” In every neighborhood there were houses for sale … times were at their worst.

1976

In 1976, Exotic purchased the 1303 building on South 96th Street, which was just down the street from 410.

1988

The end of the 80s introduced a major production line project with the award of the Boeing 757 environmental control systems (ECS) program in 1988.

1994

In 1994, Exotic forged a new relationship with the acquisition of Parker Metal Bellows.

2001

On September 27, 2001 our company’s founder passes away from inoperable brain cancer.

With the passing of Don Lindsey in 2001, Bill Binder took the reigns and continued to make the employees and the atmosphere in which they work the central guiding force of the growth which would continue for nearly two more decades.

2002

Founded in 2002, Exotic Aircraft Services provides global support and is an FAA, EASA, and CAAC-certified repair station with the unique ability to fabricate spares to customer specifications, and provide FAA PMA spares under OEM license.

2004

Exotic was the first company awarded the Pratt & Whitney Gold Supplier status, which has been held continually since 2004.

2015

Another major milestone was met when the Airway Heights, WA, facility was opened in March of 2015.

In 2015, the timing was right, with Exotic’s 50th anniversary just around the corner.

2019

In July 2019, the acquisition of Exotic was announced and a new relationship of building for the future has begun.
