**Job Description**
We are seeking an Electrical Technical Expert to join our Data Center team and serve as the subject matter expert on hyperscale, mission-critical campus and facility electrical systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and is passionate about supporting project teams with deep technical expertise.
You will be the go-to resource for electrical design strategy, QA/QC oversight, and technical mentorship across high-impact data center projects. Your work will directly influence the reliability, scalability, and innovation of our electrical systems supporting hyperscale clients.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Serve as the technical lead for electrical systems in hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects, including power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, and emergency power.
+ Provide expert-level guidance on design standards, code compliance (NEC, NFPA, IEEE), and commissioning protocols.
+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external partners to ensure technical excellence and alignment with client goals.
+ Mentor and support engineering teams, offering technical reviews, troubleshooting, and strategic input.
+ Lead QA/QC processes and ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
+ Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in mission-critical infrastructure and integrate them into project strategies.

The Controls Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of controls system and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure-based controls equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. **Required Skills:**
Controls Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities:
1. Accountable for all Building Management System (BMS) changes and enhancements at the data center as part of a global fleet
2. Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and experience with testing and creating modifications in multiple languages of systems software
3. Troubleshoot and repair controls hardware including controllers, relays, measurement devices, actuators, and associated equipment with mechanical and electrical device systems
4. Review operating equipment data for efficiency improvements, monitor all building systems for abnormal operating trends, and make optimization adjustments accordingly
5. Collaborate with other disciplines to make modifications to BMS settings to manage the building space
6. Ensure appropriate cross-functional collaboration between local controls team and applicable local and global teams
7. Manage controls vendors while supporting site operations including direct oversight to all system configuration and component upgrades
8. Provide QA/QC oversight of controls scope, review proposals and review programming through commissioning process for new construction and retrofits
9. Oversee all control system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems comply with best practices, including change control processes
10. Provide technical controls training and support to all Facility Operations staff

The Opportunity
As the Solar Production Estimate Subject Matter Expert, you will have the opportunity to contribute to technical due diligence engagements for multiple types of assets, including solar and battery energy storage renewable energy projects on behalf of lenders and investors; serving in a supporting role to a multi-disciplinary team of Independent Engineering and Technical Due Diligence consultants.
This is a key role on a team of engineers, consultants, and financial analysts, with the expectation to provide subject matter expertise in solar production estimating methodology. Consultants in this practice generally work on multiple concurrent projects at a given time. This position will report to the transaction solution team within Black & Veatch Infrastructure Advisory.

Key Responsibilities
Consulting Capability:
* Compiles data from contracts and technical documents
* Conduct data analysis and translate into written reports and presentation
* Execute and or review solar resource and yield simulation of PV power plants using PVsyst
* Execute regression-based forecasts of energy production using historical operational data
* Provide quality reviews on production estimates to produce reports suitable for commercial and contractual use.
* Supports project teams to discuss results with clients
* Proactively maintain an understanding of solar production estimating industry practices to ensure tools and processes reflect best in class offering
* Transfers knowledge, capabilities, and skills to improve others' knowledge and skill levels

Industry Knowledge Capability:
* Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of renewable energy technologies such as solar PV, wind, and battery energy storage. Experience with solar production estimating software a must.
* Leverages experience with plant engineering and design, inspections, outage assessment, plant and portfolio budget processes, equipment condition assessment, capital project assessments, reliability/availability assessments, conducting field observations, performance assessments, and/or financial analysis and models.
* Utilizes specialized knowledge to produce moderately complex work products and solutions across many phases of an engagement or one phase of a more complex engagement
* Applies appropriate methods or recognized equivalent to identified client needs
* Anticipates and resolves technical problems with occasional technical assistance from others

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
* 4+ years experience in a business/consulting environment
