Quick Supply Company is a family-owned business that began serving the construction industry in 1938 supplying explosives and offering blasting services to limestone quarries throughout the Midwest. Today, we offer blasting services throughout the Midwest and Southeast. In addition to explosives, we stock a complete line of geosynthetics, erosion/sediment control products, and also landscape materials with coast-to-coast locations.

We are actively seeking qualified candidate to fill an entry level position in our Blasting Department. This individual will support the Blaster in charge role and receive on-the-job training to prepare and layout planned explosive related blasts. In addition, this position will also assist in the transport of explosive materials to job sites, loading/unloading trucks, shop maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Eagerness to learn and assist the Blaster in charge with shot layout, shot reports, and related paperwork as required
+ Trains to be proficient in all areas of blasting techniques
+ Develops a solid understanding of proper explosives product use and various applications
+ Understands and follows company safety policies and procedures and performs work in a safe manner
+ Attends all company meetings & safety trainings as required
+ Loading and unloading trucks
+ Transport explosives and other materials to/from customer locations.
+ Warehouse operation/maintenance
+ All other duties as assigned
Job requirements and qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Valid Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements or have the ability to obtain one within 90-days of hire.
+ Meet all State and Federal explosives laws as set forth by the BATF
+ Meet all FMSCR requirements
+ Team Player with good organizational and time-management skills
+ Ability to pass background check, pre-employment screening and random drug/alcohol screenings (no felonies/DUI/DWI)
Physical Requirements
+ Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and have the ability to lift 50lbs or more
+ Frequent exposure to heavy equipment.
+ Willingness to 50-60 hours a week, particularly during the high peak business season (typically April-November), 40 hours a week during the "off-season", sometimes undesirable ranges of climate and weather conditions.
+ Walks/traverses, stands on rough terrain, bends frequently, climbs ladders, steps and other elevated platforms
Compensation and Benefit Package
+ Starting wage begins at $20.00-$24.00 an hour, depending on experience & qualifications
